Intuitive Self Care

For Your Whole Well Being

Do you take 5 minutes or even 30 minutes to tune into your intuitive self?

  • To unleash your imagination.
  • To get curious.
  • To do absolutely nothing.

To tune into yourself and tune everything else out!

Being able to listen and act on your intuition is possible and with a little practice soon enough becomes second nature! You learn to believe and trust in yourself, especially in making decisions and choices. You learn to think more clearly and that gives you clarity in tuning into your intuition and coming from a place of love by following your heart. You learn to be one with yourself and tap into what you need, want, desire, and crave!

Does your intuitive self crave creativity and/or exploration? To play, laugh and have fun. Do you integrate creativity throughout your day? To find that inspiration and motivation. Creativity is good for the whole well being; mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. 

Getting creative is like breathing and moving. It promotes self love and self confidence. It cultivates healthiness and happiness. It creates innovation and thinking outside the box. It gives you a mood booster as well as an energy booster!

Some Creative Ideas to Consider Doing

  • Drawing or coloring.
  • Journaling or writing.
  • Singing or playing a musical instrument.
  • Listening to music or dancing.
  • Tuning into the “green spaces” either indoors or outdoors.
  • Gathering inspiration and motivation through various mediums.
  • Tapping into your senses.
  • Wondering and wandering.

DO What MOVES You!!! Spark your curiosity. Make the world come alive around you. Discover the magic that lets your creative being come out to play!

Just imagine how much more aware and awake you can be by tuning into your intuition! How much more you will open yourself up to experience. How much more you will want to slow down the pace to soak it in and savor it. How much more you will be in the present moment and just want to be!

Getting to the Heart . . .

For me it is a multitude of things.

  • Putting the “over” on the down low and remembering to keep it simple.
  • Being more . . . mindful, present, aware, grateful, focused, thankful, etc.
  • Becoming a better person and putting my best self out there each and every day.
  • Doing more of what I love because it inspires, motivates and drives me to get out there to experience life.
  • Coming from a place of love and following my heart’s needs and wants as well as dreams and desires.

Here is how I am putting my word, manifesting, into action for 2017!

Capturing

Do you make time to dream, imagine, visualize? What do you do with those thoughts (i.e. vision board, picture book, inspiration cloud, etc.)?

Focus on the now! What do you need and want as well as crave and desire? Think about manifesting! Imagine and picture yourself going after it. Nurture, nourish, drive, and fuel IT!

Focusing In & On . . .

Creating

Do you have a hobby? Do you give yourself the time and the space to enjoy that hobby?

Unleash your creative being! It can boost your mood, energy and spirit. It can give you inspiration and motivation as well as reflection and relaxation. It can get your whole being flowing and moving again. Remember to tap into your creative side!

Focusing

Do you ever feel like you do not multitask well? I do, so you are not alone. At times multitasking is overload for the mind and body coordination and may create errors, burn out, disruption, distraction, etc. Think about how your whole being feels doing one thing at a time! 

Yes you can do anything you put your mind, body and soul into, however; you cannot do everything! Remember that! 

Practice being present and focusing in on the now and what deserves your attention! Build a healthier and happier relationship with yourself in setting boundaries, creating space and giving yourself a little slack too. Your whole being will thank you for unplugging and giving it some much needed R&R!

Stretching

Do you stretch your comfort zone to try new things?

  • To travel and adventure.
  • To explore and experiment.
  • To connect and engage.
  • To communicate to interact.
  • To learn to develop.
  • To experience growth to gain experiences.

Filling Your Bucket . . .

It may be a little uncomfortable at times to stretch, but with practice you will figure out what you like and do not like to feel more at ease! You may become more flexible and adaptable. You may want to take a little risk in exploring and experimenting in trying new things. You learn to not be so fearful or afraid in making mistakes and learn a little humility when it comes to failures. Get out there, go for it and embrace the challenges and the successes! 

Wandering

My favorite form of reflection, relaxation and/or meditation is wandering! aka Escaping to the Great Outdoors. I refresh and recharge my whole being. I feel like a better person too!

Found It!

The Word I Have Been Looking For

I have been in a writing rut lately and for about a month I have had a word escape the fore front of my mind to end up stuck on the tip of my tongue. I cannot remember the word though that escaped until recently when it shouted out to me. This will be my word for 2017!

MANIFEST

What do you do with what you hope and wish for? Want and crave? Dream and desire? Visualize the details to the big picture?

You take it and manifest it aka Go For It & Do It! Then Manifest More of it! 

We all are capable of attracting what we need through our decisions and choices! You have to step out of your way and stop putting obstacles up. You have to release resistance by tuning into your insecurities and fears by coming from a place of love and from within yourself. We are all capable of attracting abundance in our lives by manifesting it!

Not only do you create the space you need, you set the boundaries too! Find your path to journey along. Create your story chapter by chapter. Discover the life that you MANIFEST each and every day by doing and going for it! 

  • My biggest take away from 2016 is having to remind myself to slow down and keep it more simple.
  • The best advice I received in 2016 is that it is less traumatic when you make mistakes daily instead of one day having one mistake that just trips you up and knocks you down.
  • Most of all is LOVE as well as being appreciative, thankful and grateful for what you do have in your life!

If I learned anything in 2016 it was that the work continues! Really think about what is optimal and sustainable for you and what works best for you too. Then start doing it! In a short period of time you may see a difference in your productivity and energy. It is okay to slow the pace down at times and take the time to relax and rest!

You are worthy and you are deserving! You have to be open to receiving what the world has to offer you by learning, experiencing growth and gaining life experiences. Remember that!

Also Remember  . . .

  • Schedule you into your week by taking 5 minutes, 30 minutes or an hour to be with yourself.
  • Move your body every hour (i.e. stretch, get out of your chair, take the stairs, go for a walk, etc.).
  • Make time to play and have some much deserved fun time.
  • Find that quiet place to take a few minutes to relax, recharge, release, and rest.
  • Practice self-care in being and doing for you and your whole well being.
  • Take time off for your health and sanity.

Think about the love you give to yourself as well as others, especially your greatest someones!

Sense of Self

How do you tune into your sense of self and tap into your inner being?

  • Belief, value, trust.
  • Love, care, kindness, compassion.
  • Making time to go within yourself.
  • Connecting to your breath to reconnect with your whole being.
  • Being there for you and supporting yourself.

Create that space for yourself to have some much needed “me” time! To do what you want you want even if it means doing nothing.

Sense of Community

We all have that innate sense to belong and be a part of a bigger world. To communicate, interact and connect. To find that support. To spend time with others and not be such a solitary being. You find comfort in being within a community.

Being part of a community is a great way to learn, create and experience! To just be; present and mindful. To refresh and recharge. To give back and receive in return. The possibilities and opportunities are awaiting you!

This sense of community may bring out the adventurer in you too! Want to try something new. How about trying it by being part of a bigger group. A popular term in my community is the “exercise social” where you combine community, exercise/play and fun.

Sense of Direction

How do you share and spread the love with yourself as well as others, especially your greatest someones?

  • Remind yourself that you are love and that you are loved.
  • Remind yourself to believe, value and trust in who you are.
  • Remind yourself to come from a place of love by listening to your heart and what it needs, wants and desires.
  • Remind yourself to be open to receiving as well as giving.
  • Remind yourself to share and spread the loving kindness.

How do you direct your focus, especially your passions and purpose?

What does prosperity mean to you? 

For me it is about tapping into what I already have from within myself and tuning into what I need, want and/or crave! My inner guidance system that encompasses my whole being. My ability to attract that richness of abundance that works best for my whole being. My overall humanness in being true to who I am; believing, valuing, trusting!

Think about . . .

  • Listening to your whole being.
  • Paying attention and being aware.
  • Asking yourself great questions.
  • Utilizing your intuition and instinct.

It comes from within your inner self! Trusting your inner wisdom and intelligence. Tuning and tapping into your senses and your physical sensations. What is your being trying to tell you!

  • Recognizing and learning to listen to your inner being and voice.
  • Communicating, interacting and connecting with your whole being.
  • Cultivating growth and gaining experiences.

How do you shift back to yourself and make time for yourself? 

It comes from practicing, personalizing, prioritizing, promoting . . .

  • Creating personal space and boundaries.
  • Using your time and energy effeciently and effectively.
  • Willing to be open to the opportunities.
  • Making those good choices and decisions that benefit and work best for you.
  • Setting goals and intentions.
  • Doing things differently to change and transform for the better.
  • Prioritizing health, wellness, wealth, and happiness.

How do you define success?

It comes from you and the love your have for yourself.

  • Self love and self care.
  •  Self compassion and self forgiveness.
  • Self belief, value and trust.

By defining success in your own terms and the perspective you have on how you approach your own success! Find yourself identifying what matters to you that makes you a healthier and happier being. Find yourself focusing on what you do have. Creating what you need to be successful!

By acknowledging what scares you and still taking action! Especially amongst fear, doubt and mistakes. While having the guts and faith to embrace it and do it. Sure it may be easier to hide and avoid, but think about what you may be missing out on in not trying at all!

Stretching and Awakening

By stretching yourself and the expectations and limits you set for yourself! In stretching you learn to deal and cope as well as adapt and change. In taking control and making choices you create your space, boundaries and freedoms. You focus on the here and now!

By creating more of what you want and less of what you do not! If you do not know than figure it out by going within yourself and into your heart. Open your mind to learning new skills and developing new strengths. You may even awaken talents and gifts that have been dormant!

By being with your greatest someones and hanging with the people that get you! That building and giving and receiving. That encouragement and care. That love and support!

On a final note you do not get what you do not ask for! Ask for what you need, want and/or crave, especially from yourself. Practice communicating with yourself and then sharing with the others in your life on the whats. Be clear and in tune with your whole being on your asks!

Your Attention Please

Yes, You!

I recently read an article by Dr. Nate Klemp about meditation and it resonated with me! He talked about practicing meditation and being aware of three steps in particular. However, you could put these 3 steps into pretty much everything you practice on a daily, weekly and monthly basis!

  1. NOTICE by Creating a Cue.
  2. SHIFT by Redirecting Your Attention.
  3. REWIRE by Keeping Your Attention On the Present.

Noticing . . .

Noticing

A Notice Cue? I know I was like what is that. It helps remind you . . .

  • To practice meditation and/or calmness.
  • To be present and aware.
  • To be mindful and engage your whole being mentally, physically, etc.

I think about tuning into my breath. Breathe in . . . breathe out . . . find the zen . . .

I think about putting the disruptions and the distractions on the down low. To be aware and focus. To be present and mindful. To take a break. To just be . . .

I know I usually start my day by taking 15-minutes and ending my day with 30-minutes of unwind and decompress time. I need to instill more of that throughout my work day though. I need to schedule in some R&R on the weekends. I need to make time to be with myself and my whole being!

To become a healthier and happier being!

Cueing . . .

Shifting

  • How many times do we shift our attention?
  • What needs your attention?
  • What grabs your attention?

Practicing awareness helps you reign in that wandering mind! Just the amount of thoughts running through your head. To be mindful and to be in the present moment! It is not easy in this fast paced and technology driven world.

Engage your senses, especially to the sights and sounds in that present moment of time! It can be centering. Focusing on the task at hand and directing your thoughts to that task!

Being . . .

Rewiring

How to teach yourself to bring back your attention when your mind starts to wander! Sometimes a wandering mind can be a good thing and other times not so much. Depends on what you are doing. Taking five minutes to rewire, bring your attention back and focus on the moment is a great practice!

The key is to notice and cue into your wandering mind as well as shift and rewire your attention! It can help you focus your mind and center your being. You also are one step closer to practicing mindfulness!

You learn how to take each moment to become more present and mindful of what you are doing and what is going on around you! You improve your focus and increase your productivity. You put your energies to good use. Your overall whole being benefits by reducing stress and anxiety, not rushing here and there and running on E!

I know you are thinking about the time to do this! Time is precious, right. Why not use it to your best advantage then! This is not something you need to take time out of your day to do. Plus maybe more of us need to take 5 minutes here and there throughout the day to reset the whole being! Get up, go for a walk and stretch if nothing else during those 5 minutes!

The Benefits of Mindfulness

  • Do you find that you are not 100% there when you have a task at hand?
  • Do you find yourself doing the task 50/50?
  • Do you think about “having more time”?
  • Do you find yourself just responding and reacting?

What are you thinking about? What is on your mind and taking over your brain?

Coming or Going???

In being distracted you miss information and it slows you down! You are working harder not smarter. You are wasting precious energy and time. You start doubting yourself and your abilities!

  • Are we focusing and retaining the information?
  • Are we really listening or just hearing what we want to hear?
  • Are we present and aware?
  • Are we paying attention to all the possibilities and opportunities?

This creates miscommunication and misunderstanding at times! We need to really listen and learn from within ourselves as well as from others around us. Not reacting and taking it personal! We need to communicate, interact and connect more fully with ourselves and others. That mindful attention and awareness!

  • Improve your memory and focus.
  • Tune you into your emotions, thoughts and feelings.
  • Reduce stress as well as anxiety and tension.
  • Give you a sense of awareness.

The piece I struggle with in practicing mindfulness is in changing my mindset! The ego and the attitude. The expectations and the judgments. The preconceptions and the prejudices. How do you practice and integrate an open mindset where you see the good and the positive?

That type of clarity makes us more productive! To cope and handle it. That type of of calmness and balance makes us more progressive! To self monitor and to deal with it in a good and positive manner.

Quieting the Mind

Finding Your Inner Center Again

When your mind is trying to take over the controls it can be stressful and frustrating! The thoughts stuck in your head are on repeat. You cannot think straight and become frazzled and even scattered at times. You start feeling like everything is a personal attack!

You feel like you are getting slower and making no progress in any direction! The what ifs and negative thinking kick in. The woe is me and so need a pity party right now runs through your head. You start making a mess of things and then it really starts to crumble and fall apart if you let it! Do not give in!

Acknowledging

Practicing . . .

Step 1 – Acknowledge your thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Step 2 – Accept and forgive yourself.

Step 3 – Release and let them go.

Step 4 – Give yourself a break.

Step 5 – Give yourself love.

It is not easy to stay in charge when your mind is trying to take over the controls! You do have the power to go within yourself though to find your inner quiet, calm and balance. You do have the power to acknowledge and accept your thoughts, feelings and emotions. You do have the power to forgive and change. You do have the power to be in control and do what is best for you and your whole being!

Practicing . . .

  • Finding your inner quiet.

  • Listening to your inner voice.
  • Being aware.
  • Expressing your gratitude for what you do have.
  • Loving and believing in yourself.
  • Feeling calm and balance from your inner core/center.
