Boosting

Your Self Love and How You Feel About Yourself

Do you practice self love?

I do and my whole being likes a good pep talk! Tuning in to how your whole being feels. From your mental awareness to your mood to your body language. Your breathing and posture can tell you a lot about your current state of being too! 

Do you know how amazing of a being you truly are! You have everything you need from within to handle life’s moments and life’s adventures, from the happiest to the most challenging. How you discover that is by listening to the inner you!

  • Your beliefs, values and virtues.
  • Your respect and trust.
  • Your intuition and wisdom.
  • Your gifts and talents.
  • Your gratitude and appreciation.

Remember to reflect on and focus in on nourishing and nurturing your whole being! How to feel better in your whole, well being. How to be the best you can be. Most of all love you for you!

Remember to learn and try new things! Be present to what you are truly experiencing. Tune into your mindful awareness and really focus in, especially on the here and now. Tap into that passion and empowerment as well as that motivation and drive. Practice and learn each and every day!

Sometimes I feel like I need to speed up and sometimes I feel like I need to slow down! I find I make better decisions and choices in slowing down. To think and to process. To quiet the noise to gain clarity. To become more aware and pay attention to what I need!

Think about pleasing yourself as well as forgiving yourself! Find that confidence to boost yourself and make your whole being feel its best. Find that trust to build yourself and engage your instincts. Discover your whys in your needs and do it for you!

Think about that internal validation from yourself versus the external validation from others! Own your decisions. Validate. Own your feelings and emotions. Empowerment. Own your passions and dreams. Owe it to yourself to be the true, real person that you are!

Remember to communicate and connect with yourself! To build. To cultivate. To challenge. To just be and show up for YOU!

Comfort

Not Talked About Enough!

Do you ever crave comfort? I really hope you do!

I am not sure if comfort helps simplify or simplifying creates comfort!

  • How does comfort help you simplify?

For me simplicity can create clarity as well as connect me to my creative being too! There are times you need to clear your mind. There are times you need to clean and organize your being and the environment you live in. Think about how you can simplify throughout your day!

Bring more simplicity into each and every day! Think about what you want to create in your life and let it in!

  • How does comfort affect your whole, well being?
  • How does comfort connect you to your self, soul and spirit?

What do you do for yourself for self comfort? Knowing what brings you comfort is key to releasing and relaxing as well as recharging and restoring your whole being. What do you do for yourself to fill up the tank? From energizing to balancing to motivating to calming. Remember to really tap into that when you need it most!

  • How is your comfort sacred to you and your well being?

You have the choice in how you practice for you and your whole well being when it comes to supporting your health and wellness. You make the decision in what matters the most to you as well as your whole well being.

Remember to create that space for yourself! To honor yourself. To live with intention, meaning and purpose. To make time for your practice. That matters and is sacred to each and everyone of us too! 

  • How does comfort provide self encouragement and self empowerment?

Do you want to drive or be driven when it comes to living life! Connecting to your heart and soul. Tuning into your intuition and instincts. Growing into the person you want to be. Being true to yourself!

How do you become one with yourself! I open up my posture, stand tall, feel my toes to my fingers and just deep breathe. It helps you envision and evoke your physical presence and your inner power. Think of yourself rooted from the ground on up!

  • How do you create the time and the space you need?

Living can be fast and busy. Pause and breathe. Living can be complicated and messy. Take a break to relax and rest.

Relax Dude!

Being aware and making the time to be in the here and now! Knowing where you are and being in that moment. Experiencing, expanding, and growing! 

  • Ignite your curiosity and spark your interests.
  • Discover your purpose in what drives you and your passions in what motivates you.
  • Try new things and continue to learn.
  • Give yourself more of what you love, especially joy and happiness!

Bookending

Adding It To My Practice

I had that aha! moment! I get wrapped up in the needs throughout my work day that I forget to do for myself. I need to make time to nourish and nurture my whole well being!

I have recently added bookending to my daily practice. Basically for me it means taking 15-to-30 minutes for me, myself and I at the beginning as well as the end of my day. I can set an actionable plan for the day and then put a close to it at the end of my day. I usually end my day with a good book in my hands!

Bookending helps you focus by giving you clarity throughout the day! You may learn how to better develop your concentration. You may feel more productive and less stressed out. You may feel that you communicate and engage at a higher level. You may feel that you are paying attention more to what is good for you!

I try to have a pen and pad of paper at hand! 

  • To write out a to do list.
  • To write down some reflections and maybe even frustrations.
  • To write down distractions and interruptions to remain focused on the task at hand.

It clears your mind and just gets rid of the clutter, noise, etc.! 

Do you catch yourself ruminating? Then write it out to get it out of your head!

  • It can help create calm to settle things down.
  • It can help create balance to smooth things out.
  • It can help you use your time and energies more efficiently and effectively.

Talk about a freeing experience! 

Remember to break up your day too!

  • Focus on the here and now.
  • Go for a walk, take a lunch break, etc.
  • Connect with others.
  • Get mindful and present.
  • Pausing, closing your eyes and just breathing.

Think about your sanctuary place and go there either visually or physically! 

  • Your greatest someones.
  • Where you heart is.
  • A place of nourishment for you and your whole well being.
  • Your favorite place.

Really tune into what you bring into that space! What is speaking to you. Truly put yourself on silent mode and relax!

Take 30

For Your Whole, Well Being

Are you up for a reward? How about taking 30-minutes for yourself. How would you use those thirty minutes? Remember at times you may have to break it up into increments throughout the day to get your thirty minutes in.

  • Spending time with your greatest someones.
  • R&R.
  • Health, Wellness, Exercise.
  • Getting creative.
  • Goal setting.
  • Planning and scheduling.

Your needs will change from day to day, week to week and month to month! What are you truly needing? What would have the biggest impact for you? Just go with the one that speaks the loudest to you!

What is truly beneficial to your whole, well being! Remember to value yourself and your needs. Remember to make yourself and your whole, well being a priority. Ask yourself what you are needing and know your whys in meeting those needs and making a desired impact for yourself and your whole, well being!

Some favorites of mine.

  • Carving out time to cook, entertain and gather round with my greatest someones.
  • Making date night a priority a few times a month.
  • Connecting and catching up with my greatest someones.
  • Trying new things and meeting new people. Being part of a community.
  • Doing nothing and just enjoying and soaking in the day.

I use to wish for more time and still do! However, I am learning how to use my time and energies more efficiently and effectively. Stop wasting it and start using it proactively and productively!

Happenstance

Do you tune into coincidences? I like to think of them as signs or directions to support me on my path while I journey along. A call to pay attention, focus and redirect. Here is your sign!

Some times I am pretty attentive and other times I need the sign to jump out at me! 

Do you try to make sense of them? Learning from them or even trusting them. Communicating and responding. Connecting and engaging. Creating that space for yourself to go within yourself!

Are you experiencing or reacting? If you are reacting you may need to adjust and may even come to the realization it is no longer serving you in a good way. Becoming aware of what works best for you matters to you and your whole, well being. You start to open yourself up to experience and may even grow and change for the better!

Are you creating the space you need? The space where you do not feel stuck and if you do knowing how to get unstuck. The space where you can handle a fork in the road. The space to continue moving forward and when it is time to simple let go. Especially in knowing what is serving you and what is not!

Are you making time to just get lost? Get curious and explore. Daydream and ponder. Wander and wonder. Maybe even allow your intuition and inner desires to guide and direct you! 

Being able to shift your reality! Practicing and trying the NEW! Learning to embrace change. Growing and experiencing. Creating openness to the limitless possibilities and endless opportunities!

Making the time to become one with your whole being! Your emotions, thoughts and feelings. The mental and emotional as well as the physical and spiritual. Your beliefs and values. Creating your reality by aligning your “whys” in what you need and what you want in living your life!

Really think about reconnecting to the inner you to tune into your intuition! Your beliefs and values. Your ability to change and adapt. Your desires and passions. Your ability to be flexible and have humility. Get to know who you are!

Really listen to yourself and your truth! It is very much a practice of one’s balance and alignment. It creates motion and movement. Embrace in your life experiences and engage in your growth!

  • To trust yourself.
  • To treat yourself how you want to be treated.

Do you think about creating that vacation mode at home? Taking one day to do what you want even if it is doing nothing. Breaking up the routine with NO alarms, schedules and plans. At least making time to take 30-minutes for your whole, well being!

I think about window shopping!

  1. Choose an area to explore.
  2. Turn off your phone and tap into your natural surroundings.
  3. Stop when you want to.
  4. Maybe step in to check something out that calls to you.
  5. Smile and laugh.
  6. Play and have fun.
  7. Break the routine, have nothing planned and just get out to experience!

The Now

In Practicing . . .

Where are you experiencing your heart’s desire?

  • Where you get to experience your passion come alive in the flow of the now.
  • Where you get to build your self confidence by trying, being, practicing, doing . . .
  • Where you get to show up regularly for you to experience growth and life.
  • Where you get to explore, experiment and experience.
  • Where you get to take and make the time for you and your “whys” in what you need, desire, want, crave . . .

I use to strive for perfection and found out I was barely thriving let alone living. Perfection had me stalled and stuck. Then I learned about practicing! The one caveat was discovering my “whys” in what I needed/wanted more of in living my life.

We are continuously learning, growing and experiencing! We are continuously building confidence through opportunities to try, be, practice, do, etc. We are continuously transitioning, changing, growing and transforming through those opportunities to learn and practice our skills, talents and gifts. Learning and practicing go together and once you figure it out it so makes sense as to why they pair well together!

The best part of practicing is making it your own! From stretching and stepping outside your comfort zone. From trying and learning the new. Anything and everything is a practice to progress and experience growth!

What are you practicing?

For me . . .

  • Trying new exercise programs.
  • Writing and photographing.
  • Learning about home design.
  • Exploring new foods and experimenting with cooking.
  • Making time for me.

When I am practicing and learning I keep one main thing in mind! What two things can I take away from those experiences. In doing so through development and personal growth you find your zest for living your life. The other amazing thing is what it teaches you about yourself!

I believe that in practicing and learning you expand your world as well as yourself from the inside out! You tune into who you truly are and the essence of your spirit. You tap into your intuition, heart and mind. You communicate and connect with yourself on a whole other level!

Practice to Learn. Learn by Practice. 

Practicing breaks up the norm and maybe even challenges you a bit! It can help you question your self judgment and criticism. It may help you see your self limiting beliefs and fears. It can be freeing and transformational!

Practicing builds your sense of self and being! It gives you satisfaction and joy as well as achievement and celebration. It drives and motivates you to discover your craves, desires and passions. It gives you vision and guidance as well as purpose and direction!

Finding “IT” . . .

Connection versus Disconnection

A Sense of Belonging versus Isolation

How does one be a “social being” in a technological advancing world? To communicate and interact. To connect and engage. To find a common ground.


Grounding . . . Balancing . . . Connecting . . .

Where does that balance come into play between interactions with technology versus face-to-face? Balancing the real world with the virtual world.

I have been hearing a few buzz words lately that peaked my curiosity. Emotional intelligence, positivity, empathy, etc. I am curious. What do these words mean to you?

In one way I find it a little old school and in another way I am glad it is being brought to the forefront again. It got me thinking about finding that happy medium between face-to-face versus tech interactions. How does one find “it”! Especially with technology at our fingertips!

  • Are we time saving or time wasting?
  • Do you think we need to tune into and tap into our emotional intelligence, positivity and empathy?

Especially when it comes to those artificial intelligence interactions!


Can You Hear It?

I also see it as a way to perceive and look at all sides! To try and take the judgement and bias out of it. To gain a deeper understanding. To better inform your responses and actions!

Empathy is a way to identify with different types of people. Communicating, interacting and even connecting with others, our communities and with the world around us. Being open and cultivating understanding. Taking the time to listen with those conversations and interactions with others.

  • Listening, observing, focusing.
  • Being patient.
  • Asking questions to gain insight.
  • Opening the dialogue to improve communication and connection.
  • Making an environment more warm and welcoming as well as comfortable and relaxed.
  • Problem solving and decision making.
  • Practicing empathy towards others as well as for yourself.


Exploring . . . Opening . . . Being . . .

It is very much about being a teacher as well as being a student.
  • Learning to understand more about yourself and who you are. From your abilities and skills to your attributes and performance.
  • Learning your communication style to build better relationships. From your responses and reactions to your social and soft graces.
  • Practicing flexibility and humility. From your traits and habits to your emotions and behaviors.
  • Connecting to your personal identity and emotional intelligence. From logic to emotional and in between with your whole being, especially with your mind set and physical being.

Motivated

Time & Energy

I think most of us think about having more time along with having more energy! I know I do. I know I find myself just going through the motions most days and then find myself needing a switch up. I know I am also a creature of habit too. However, you need to add some motivation when doing the same thing day in and day out!

My Challenge to Myself in 2018!

Try something NEW! every month!

Think in terms of playful and fun in trying something new! It brings out your inner kid along with your curiosity. It can add a little excitement and motivation too. You will not know if you like something if you never try it out!

Do it solo or have a buddy join you. Having a buddy or your tribe behind you helps. It keeps you accountable to show up and do your best. It gives you someone to share the experience with as well as the process. You may even find your buddy helping to stretch your comfort zone in trying new things!

Grab a buddy, your tribe or even join your community and go!

Who knows, you might fall in love with it and it may become your new favorite thing!

Remember it is easier to stay motivated when you are relaxed and tuning into your body’s needs! Truly listen to yourself and your whole being from the inside out. Really focus in on the love you have for yourself to be and do more of what you love. By believing and trusting yourself it gives you that push to be and feel your best!

Ask Yourself . . .

  • What gives you inspiration and motivation?
  • Are you open to receiving? Especially the possibilities and opportunities.

There needs to be a simple and clear focus too! Think about what matters and is important to you. Think about what your intention is in the actions you take. Not getting into too much detail helps you achieve those intentions and meet your goals!

Think about . . .

  • What goals do you want to meet and maybe even crush in 2018?
  • What intentions do you need to work on and practice throughout the year? Remember to keep it focused, clear and simple.
  • What do you really need and want and know your “whys”?

Remember to check in with yourself on your focus from time to time.  In a way it is like watching that pot to see if it boils. If you just leave it alone it will happen in due time! You will not only see the results you will have enjoyed the process to get those results and feel good by working for it.

  • Are you focusing on the process or the results?
  • Are you taking the time to vision and manifest?
  • Do you truly believe and trust yourself in the practice to process and progress?

There needs to be that balance between doing all that you want to do versus finding the ease within all that doing! Take time out to make time for you. Add in some relaxation and rest. Just be in the present moment soaking it in!

My Magic Circle

Whole Well Being

I am talking about Pilates and the Magic Circle prop used! When I first saw the Magic Circle I thought I am going to join the circus. I was use to straps and blocks and now you are giving me a circle and a ball. Yes going to be able to perform circus tricks!

I tend to call my magic circle a steering wheel. It looks and feels like a steering wheel to me. It also helps me steer myself to a whole well being! It reminds me that I am in control. It reminds me that I need to get out of my head and connect to my whole being from within!

These two props along with my mat are my besties now! I am actually embracing the three pound weights too. How can something three pounds make your arms shake and feel like jello!

With the squeeze of the magic circle I am strengthening and finding my power! The engagement between your inner being and your strength. The communication between your mind and your body. The connection that your body is connected and activated as a whole!

I spend 50-minutes at least three times a week for myself and my whole well being. I love the variety at the studio I go to. I enjoy the mix of Barre, Mat Pilates, Yogalates and Yoga offered throughout the week. I find my center and focus as well as my reset and recharge in my practice!

I am still a work in practice when it comes to using my energies effectively and efficiently. That needing of a second wind or that needing of some relaxation and rest. It is balancing and centering for the mind and body! That wanting to nourish and nurture your whole being for the better. It helps you concentrate and become more focused!

Knowing how to move well is a practice of process, but so worth it once it clicks for your whole being! Learning how important breathing, posture, movement and form are for you and your whole being. Motion and movement is key to overall health and wellness! 

  • Think ease and softness.
  • Think alignment of body in relation to motion.
  • Think of innovative and creative ways to add movement.

It is challenging, fun and rewarding!

Practicing

The Process

Have you thought about practicing the process?

I think about the reading of a book. You can, but why would you just read Chapter 1 and then read the ending and call it good. You must get involved in the story and interact with it. You must get engaged in the story and experience it!

Is it about the journey or the destination?

  • Find that inspiration that moves you.
  • Find that motivation that drives you.
  • Find that passion that makes you fall in love with the practice to process!

I thought to myself one day as to why one of my expectations is to misstep, make mistakes and even fail! It certainly would make the blow a little less painful when it does happen. It is such a lesson in life and a growth experience too! Practice . . . Try . . . Get curious, explore, adventure, laugh, play and have some FUN!

There is the practice to process when you misstep, make mistakes and at times even fail! It is okay. It is part of the practice as well as the journey. It is about being humble and not taking everything so serious and to the nth degree!

Do you believe that missteps build character? I do. Self confidence, moxie, grit. Humbleness, humility and gracefulness. Gain experiences as well as determination and strength!

Failure does not mean the end! It can be the reset and restart. It can be a new beginning and/or way to get back on track. Challenge yourself, especially your perspective as well as your expectations!

Think about . . . What truly matters to you. What does it mean to give and/or do with your whole being. What do you dream about and desire. What do you CRAVE!

In knowing that it truly helps you journey along! Purpose and substance. Vision and making it happen. Achievement and celebration. Success and abundance!

Really get to the heart of the matter! Who are you and what are your beliefs and values. It is doable and survivable if you are the captain that steers your own life boat! You provide for you in knowing your whys in what you need. Only you! 

Own your self worth and do the worthwhile! Remember you are important and enough. Remember you do belong. It matters to BE and Do for YOU!

It is such a discovery of self as you practice the process to journey along!

  • Be open to who you are and who you may become along the way.
  • Stretch yourself and your comfort zone.
  • Try and try again.
  • Learn and relearn.
  • Develop and grow.
  • Gain life experiences.
  • Communicate and interact as well as connect and engage.
  • Deepen the relationship with you and your whole being.
