Natural Healing

Health & Wellness

What speaks to you when it comes to your health and wellness?

My Top 3

  • The Natural
  • Going on an Adventure
  • Relaxation & Rest

The Natural

You can bring nature inside or head out into the Great Outdoors!  The fauna and flora. The green spaces to the mountains to the sandy beaches to everything in between. The fresh air!

There is just something about natural light that brightens your whole, well being! The sunlight. The warmth. The brain gets a boost and the mood gets a lift!

Do you ever stop and just take in all the colors of the fruits and veggies available? The freshness and ripeness of the fruits and veggies in season. Wandering through an orchard or a pick your own garden. The creativity and experimentation that comes from trying, preparing, cooking, and tasting fruits and veggies!

Think About . . .

  • Activity and motion.
  • The weather and the seasons.
  • What are you eating?

Going on an Adventure

When was the last time you went on an adventure? To escape, wander and get lost. To get curious and explore. To release your inner kid and play, laugh and have fun!

Experiencing growth and gaining life experiences! Tuning into your creative being and tapping into your potential, talents and gifts. Learning about your interests and developing hobbies. Making those moments that you savor and cherish as life long memories!

Think About . . .

  • Your energies.
  • Sociability and community.
  • What excites you?

R & R

Making the time for some much needed R&R is good for your whole, well being too! To make time for yourself. To get a good, full nights rest. To wake up naturally with nothing scheduled!

It may play a part in your natural healing for better health and wellness! How you communicate and connect with yourself. How you interact and engage with yourself. It can be grounding and healing!

Think about . . .

  • Your comfort.
  • “Me” time.
  • What are you looking forward to?

Here’s to Discovering What Helps Your Whole, Well Being Naturally Heal.

Practicing Curiosity

Stretching Your Whole Being

I know I talk about being curious and exploring. I know I talk about finding your passion and purpose too.

How do you go about it though?

Some people cannot relate or identify to having a passion. It can be stressful, frustrating and downright confusing. It can make you assess your value and worth. Fact: 80% of the population cannot relate or identify a passion; 8 out of 10 people!

“I feel very grateful that I’m able to have my passion be my career, and I believe that everyone can do the same, but I feel many people don’t know exactly what it is they are passionate about. The lucky ones who do already have a head start and can begin to peruse avenues that allow that passion to be crafted into a career. For those still looking for it, I believe it’s a deep calling and it’s OK if you haven’t found it right away because life is a journey and new paths open up to us every day. We just have to create space for those opportunities to come in.” ~Leona Lewis

How do you know what you are passionate about?

Some of us are not smacked down with that lose track of time, heart racing and life expanding passion! That is okay. There are plenty of people looking and trying to figure it out though. I feel it is more about being curious and trying new things!

I also view it as an opportunity for self discovery and the possibilities are endless! You have to nurture and cultivate curiosity for yourself. You have to try and practice and then try and practice some more. You have to have patience and time to practice and learn as well as develop and grow. You have to discover the inner YOU!

Where does one start?

By . . .

  • Getting curious.
  • Trying new things.
  • Exploring and adventuring.

What are you curious about?

“Curiosity is nothing more than the desire to explore.”

Through curiosity and exploring you discover what you like and what you do not like! You will need to get curious and try a lot of things. You will find that connection within yourself that lights you up and makes you happy. You may over time spark a passion within yourself!

Remember humility and humbleness are key! You may learn to laugh at yourself too, especially in trying new things. Play, laugh and have fun. Discover the lighter and simpler side of life through curiosity!

Curiosity is your adventure partner! Trying new things is your new sidekick. Get creative. Go on a journey of self to discover YOU!

What is your #1 curiosity right now?

  • What is speaking to you to explore, try and discover?
  • What do you want to know more about?

Do You Hear It?

The Call Of Nature

I love connecting and becoming one with nature! It is blissful and peaceful. It is relaxing and rejuvenating. It is restful and reenergizing. It is beauty and ecstasy on the senses and the whole being!

  • Do you crave and desire the natural elements around you?
  • Do you embrace and revel in the natural beauty around you?
  • Do you have a relationship with the natural and the nature around you?

I crave the colors in nature! The Reds and Pinks. The Oranges and Yellows. The Greens, Blues and Purples. I am tuned into the light in nature and how the light changes throughout the day! The sun rising and the sun setting and everything in between. I am drawn to the water elements in nature! The color of the water and the movement and motion of water. The waves rolling in and back out again.

I love green spaces as well as the green in fauna and flora! Nothing better than bare feet and soft grass. There is just something about the color green after it rains in it being brighter and bolder in color. It just calls to me to use my senses and speaks to me on all levels of my whole being!

I love looking at the sky! The clouds. The surprise of a rainbow or the sky turning other colors amongst the blues. The moon and the stars. The fresh, clean air!

I enjoy building a fire and gathering around! Be it a campfire or a fireplace. It is a place to unwind and relax. It is a place connect, laugh, have a good time, and make lasting memories!

I love getting outside with the earth under my feet! Hitting the trail and going on an adventure. Exploring with my camera in hand. Just communing, interacting and connecting with the great outdoors!

I love engaging all of my senses! The sounds of nature and the great outdoors. What can be seen and what cannot be seen. That connection to the wild side of life!

The Wild Side! (Photos by RSheridan)

Here’s to Finding Solitude and Solace! Here’s to Finding Connection and Calm! Here’s to Finding Balance and Wellness for the Whole Being!

Get Lost

In A Great Book

Love this quote!

“Books are the plane, and the train, and the road.

They are the destination and the journey.

They are home.” ~Anna Quindlen

I love getting lost in reading a great book! A mystery. A page turner that sucks me in. A great read that I find hard to put down!

I have to be comfortable and find a comfy spot to read! I like very little distractions or disruptions. I want to get lost and get sucked in. I want to escape reality and be transported!

I love imagining myself in the setting in the book! I enjoy when I can relate to the characters in the story. I think about how I would think or feel if I was that character and in their shoes. I love when I fall in love with a character throughout the story! I find myself usually rooting for the under dog.

Happy Reading! Happy Escaping and Getting Lost In Reading a Great Book!

Alive, Awake, Alert, Enthusiastic

A Good Morning

Mantra To Have

If you were a girl scout and went to girl scout camp you know this morning mantra! I still use it today to get my slow butt in gear to get myself going in the mornings. I enjoyed going to camp growing up. I especially liked the scheduled events before bedtime and the way the camp came alive in the mornings! The girl talk, ghost stories and scaring each other late at night was pretty great too.

Nothing better than joining the polar bear swimming club! What a way to wake myself up by jumping into the ice cold lake before heading to breakfast. Brrr!

“I’m alive, awake, alert, enthusiastic . . .

I’m alive, awake alert, enthusiastic . . .

I’m alive, awake, alert . . .

I’m alert, awake, alive . . .

I’m alive, awake, alert, enthusiastic!”

(Insert dance moves through the entire song)

My sense of adventure was unleashed and untamed as a child and still is today as an adult! I enjoyed learning how to make fire and s’mores. I love being curious and inquisitive to search and seek out new things to learn, explore and experience! I can communicate, interact and connect to myself and the world I live in.

When I am unsure about something I reflect on being that kid who was up for just about anything and willing to give it a try at least once! It is about being willing and open to learning, growing and experiencing. It is about that inspiration and motivation that gives me drive. It is about that sense of connection to life and being and feeling alive!

Coming from a place of love and loving my whole being helps me believe and trust in myself! Believing in myself makes me alert and awake. Trusting in myself makes me aware and mindful. Loving myself makes me excited, enthusiastic, happy, and alive!

My whole being lets me know if I am using my energies effectively and efficiently! I need to listen to my inner voice, follow my heart and trust my gut because it does guide me in the direction I need to be going in. Otherwise I am off track, distracted and all over the place in living my life. I communicate, interact and connect with my whole being now and that feels pretty great in living the life I want and doing what I love!

I need to cultivate the relationship I have with myself! This is where I learn, grow and experience to develop, change, transition, and transform as a person. I need to grow and expand myself within the life I am living each and every day! Life is constant and ever changing, however; how I respond, journey and take action is how I live my life in letting it unfold around me.

Life Is One Endless Adventure – Enjoy It! Remember to Journey Along and NOT Rush To Your Destination! Love to Hear Your Thoughts, Please Share!

The Adventure

That Is Called LIFE!

Desiring and dreaming BIG. I am looking for the rainbow in the hopes of finding my “pot of gold”!

Trying and NEVER giving up. I am learning to lean into discomfort and stretch my comfort zone! It is about being open to the possibilities and the opportunities. I am learning it is about the journey and not the destination!

Reaching and experiencing EVERYTHING. I am discovering my passions and doing more of what I love! To be curious and to explore. To travel and adventure. To learn and grow and gain experiences!

BEING creative and passionate. I need to follow my heart and my dreams will become reality! I am learning to come from a place of love instead of fear.

I see life as an adventure! It is about practicing, enjoying the process and being in the moment. That is what matters most to me and that is the greatest gift I can give to myself!

What ADVENTURES Are You Up To? Love to Hear, Please Share. Happy Adventuring!!!

The BEST Parts Of . . .

Traveling,

I love hitting the open road and seeing where it takes me! I enjoy getting on a plane to journey to far away destinations. It is about shifting into a much lower gear and slowing the pace down for a while. I enjoy escaping the four walls I live within in my personal life and especially in my professional life!

I love learning about new cultures, history, places, and people! I grow as a person and gain life experiences. I really try to ask questions first before just making judgments. It is okay to lean in, be open and experience the different, the interesting and the unique!

I love seeing the natural beauty that countries have to offer when traveling, adventuring and exploring! Yosemite and Yellowstone. The Coast of California and Oregon. Beautiful Cities to Bucolic Country Sides. Just takes my breathe away and leaves me in a state of shock and awe!

Adventuring,

I love experiencing the NEW! as well as going back to places I have already been to adventure and explore some more! Adventuring is discovering what I am made of and discovering my strong.  Adventuring is growth in shaping who I am and what I want to become as I learn and experience life. It is about BEING in the moment, experiencing what life has to offer and making those memories that last a lifetime!

Sometimes adventuring is about the SIMPLE! A walk on the beach, a picnic lunch, strolling through green spaces, checking out an outdoor market, watching the sun set with a drink in hand, etc. I love getting away from the “tourist attractions” and going where the locals go to hang out!

Exploring

I love being curious! I enjoy interacting and engaging myself and my whole being. I need to engage my five senses and be aware of what is happening to me and around me. It is about living for TODAY and just GETTING OUT THERE!

Do you talk to strangers, locals or other travelers when you travel? I have had some great conversations with perfect strangers. I never know who I will meet and those conversations make for some great discoveries and experiences! I discover more about a place by interacting and engaging the locals as well as other travelers who have been to that place before. I experience different cultures and ways of living and share my culture and experiences too!

I love experiencing the New! and stretching myself, my boundaries and my comfort zone! Like that saying, “Do Something That Scares You”. DO that and MORE!

Creating

Traveling, adventuring and exploring is a part of creating my story in living my life! It is about experiencing memorable places and people. It is about making memories that last a lifetime. It is about being open to experiences, stretching my comfort zone and just discovering more about who I am!

Sharing

I love sharing my experiences through writing! I enjoy giving back to the communities I have experienced through my writing in telling others about the community and what there is to see and do. I also support the local businesses and stay within the community. Nothing better than armchair traveling!

This year we celebrated 10 years of wedded bliss and on this trip I celebrated turning the Big 4-0. It is AMAZING how life comes FULL CIRCLE!

In A Hurry?

Getting Anywhere Fast?!?

I wonder some days if you yelled, “Fire!” if anyone would respond! I would probably get a better response in saying, “Hey, Check out the shark suit wearing cat on the Roomba video!”.

My Top 3

  1. Always be on the lookout for something NEW! in your day, week, month.
  2. Please slow down, stop rushing about and find your own pace.
  3. In finding your balance you find your productivity level too.

I want to find my happiest, healthiest and best version of myself and put her out there every day!

Something NEW!

I am curious as well as a learner and a reader. I seek out nature to refresh, recharge and reenergize. I like a good challenge. I enjoy being open to the possibilities and opportunities.

I do get stuck on the wheel of life and sometimes go in one to many spins! Those make my tummy spin too. I do find myself in ruts and hope like heck it is not a deep one! Those are a bugger to get out of, especially when you crash land. I do not like when I start feeling that attitude of I do not care! That one is real dangerous and can go so wrong so quickly in so many ways.

I so need an attitude adjustment along with a new perspective for the positive when I spin, fall and stop caring! It is like my wake up call to shake things up. BE in my life once again and not from the outside looking in!

Putting It In Neutral

I appreciate technology, but please stop rushing me already! I really want to find the secret to being the most productive person I can be while doing it slowly or at least at my own pace. I hope that happens, but it seems technology is remaining to turn on me with its mobility and sleek, compact design! I will have to find the plug and unplug or find the power button and disconnect.

I need to relax way more than I already do! I need to laugh louder and have way more fun too. I cannot wait to hit my older years and welcome back nap time again!

I know my whole being would love me more if I put it in neutral more!

Speeding Up or Slowing Down?

In the Balance

I know what I do not want to do in living my life! I have my limititations and my boundaries pretty much set. However, in order to find my balance I need to know WHAT I WANT TO BE DOING! I can simply say I want to be better and to do better. It is the How? that is not as simple! I learned a hard lesson recently and it certainly taught me that I have to be who I am and to be the change I want to see in myself.

Is it as simple as balancing how I want to live and how I want to be? Talk about a loaded question!

One Challenge Coming Up

I like a good challenge, especially when that challenge goes in my favor! When it does not go in my favor I tell myself it could be much worse. Like being in a shoe box of a closet filing for 8 straight hours and by the end you need a transfusion from all those nasty paper cuts! I am a master in grunting and groaning, throwing a woe is me party and digging my heels in to the highest level of procrastination when the challenge gets rough and tough. You would think I was scaling the highest mountain instead of answering the dreaded phone where every one seems super cranky!

I have to remind myself that challenge is normal, like putting one foot in front of the other! It is a way for me to learn and grow as a person as well as broaden my knowledge, abilities and skills. I want to gain those life experiences! I am not going to do myself much good if I become stunted in my growth by not getting out there.
