Get Out of Your Head

Get Creative

What creative things do you do to get out of your head?

My top two creatives are photography and writing. I also like to get my exercise on, especially in nature.

Sometimes we become one-dimensional! We many even start associating ourselves to one identity (i.e. work, parent, student, etc.). That is okay, however; most of us are more than one identity in the lives we live each and every day. Whatever you call it you may be in a bit of a rut!

Time to shift and re-engage! Carve out some “me” time and do something creative, playful and fun for a change of pace. It gets you out of your thinking head space too!

It is sometimes the simplest and smallest things that can get you out of your own head too!

Take 30

For Your Whole, Well Being

Are you up for a reward? How about taking 30-minutes for yourself. How would you use those thirty minutes? Remember at times you may have to break it up into increments throughout the day to get your thirty minutes in.

  • Spending time with your greatest someones.
  • R&R.
  • Health, Wellness, Exercise.
  • Getting creative.
  • Goal setting.
  • Planning and scheduling.

Your needs will change from day to day, week to week and month to month! What are you truly needing? What would have the biggest impact for you? Just go with the one that speaks the loudest to you!

What is truly beneficial to your whole, well being! Remember to value yourself and your needs. Remember to make yourself and your whole, well being a priority. Ask yourself what you are needing and know your whys in meeting those needs and making a desired impact for yourself and your whole, well being!

Some favorites of mine.

  • Carving out time to cook, entertain and gather round with my greatest someones.
  • Making date night a priority a few times a month.
  • Connecting and catching up with my greatest someones.
  • Trying new things and meeting new people. Being part of a community.
  • Doing nothing and just enjoying and soaking in the day.

I use to wish for more time and still do! However, I am learning how to use my time and energies more efficiently and effectively. Stop wasting it and start using it proactively and productively!

Tuning Into Your

Inner Well Being

As of November 2017 I have been in my new exercise practice for two years. I think I finally get it. Connecting and engaging mind and body as one being!

Also, find and do what brings you joy and happiness when it comes to health, wellness and fitness! Why continue doing something that feels like a chore and that you really loathe. Bring playfulness and fun to it!

I do a self check in how I am feeling before exercising now. Am I tired and in need of a second wind or a slow down. Is my mind racing and my body ready to go. What am I in need of (i.e. relaxing, cardio, etc.).

You truly honor yourself and your whole being! You honor what matters most to you too!

I try to be fully involved when exercising now. I no longer try to zone out and instead focus in on what I am doing. Movement and posture. Breathing and positioning. Going at my pace level. It makes a difference in really feeling like I got a great workout in!

Think of it as exercising with an intention or purpose! It helps you to self motivate and self drive yourself. It helps you manage your energies and tap into your power. It helps you turn off autopilot and shift into manual mode. You truly are practicing more aware and towards that purpose that matters the most to you and your whole, well being!

I enjoy going to a studio that offers multiple exercise programs. It gives me options as well as variety. Plus I get in the warm up and cool down my body needs as well as a proper stretch during my workout. I have the ability to communicate and engage as well as interact and connect mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually!

That makes the whole being feel GOOD!

As you practice you start being more aware of what is going on for you and in doing so you keep that conversation with your whole being going! You are present. You are mindful. You are experiencing!

The biggest lesson of my practice is breath work. It is amazing how you can connect to your whole being through proper breathing. It is grounding too. You will find yourself focusing on your breathe in other areas of your life, especially to release and clear the mind!

  • How does your breathe feel?
  • Are you breathing through your nose or your mouth?
  • Is your chest or belly rising and falling?

Through practice you learn your natural rhythm!

Another major lesson is to make your practice your own!

  • Make yourself comfortable to connect and engage your whole being (mind and body).
  • Discover your whole being from the inside out. Awareness, mindfulness, presence, etc.
  • Think about what your whole being can do for you and have gratitude for that.
  • Think about the satisfaction and reward you are giving yourself and your whole being.
  • Think about the empowerment and energies you are giving yourself and your whole being.

Coinkydink

Happenstance

Do you tune into coincidences? I like to think of them as signs or directions to support me on my path while I journey along. A call to pay attention, focus and redirect. Here is your sign!

Some times I am pretty attentive and other times I need the sign to jump out at me!

Do you try to make sense of them? Learning from them or even trusting them. Communicating and responding. Connecting and engaging. Creating that space for yourself to go within yourself!

Are you experiencing or reacting? If you are reacting you may need to adjust and may even come to the realization it is no longer serving you in a good way. Becoming aware of what works best for you matters to you and your whole, well being. You start to open yourself up to experience and may even grow and change for the better!

Are you creating the space you need? The space where you do not feel stuck and if you do knowing how to get unstuck. The space where you can handle a fork in the road. The space to continue moving forward and when it is time to simple let go. Especially in knowing what is serving you and what is not!

Are you making time to just get lost? Get curious and explore. Daydream and ponder. Wander and wonder. Maybe even allow your intuition and inner desires to guide and direct you!

Being able to shift your reality! Practicing and trying the NEW! Learning to embrace change. Growing and experiencing. Creating openness to the limitless possibilities and endless opportunities!

Making the time to become one with your whole being! Your emotions, thoughts and feelings. The mental and emotional as well as the physical and spiritual. Your beliefs and values. Creating your reality by aligning your “whys” in what you need and what you want in living your life!

Really think about reconnecting to the inner you to tune into your intuition! Your beliefs and values. Your ability to change and adapt. Your desires and passions. Your ability to be flexible and have humility. Get to know who you are!

Really listen to yourself and your truth! It is very much a practice of one’s balance and alignment. It creates motion and movement. Embrace in your life experiences and engage in your growth!

  • To trust yourself.
  • To treat yourself how you want to be treated.

Do you think about creating that vacation mode at home? Taking one day to do what you want even if it is doing nothing. Breaking up the routine with NO alarms, schedules and plans. At least making time to take 30-minutes for your whole, well being!

I think about window shopping!

  1. Choose an area to explore.
  2. Turn off your phone and tap into your natural surroundings.
  3. Stop when you want to.
  4. Maybe step in to check something out that calls to you.
  5. Smile and laugh.
  6. Play and have fun.
  7. Break the routine, have nothing planned and just get out to experience!

Here’s to YOU! Love to Hear What You Are Up To, Please Share.

The Now

In Practicing . . .

Where are you experiencing your heart’s desire?

  • Where you get to experience your passion come alive in the flow of the now.
  • Where you get to build your self confidence by trying, being, practicing, doing . . .
  • Where you get to show up regularly for you to experience growth and life.
  • Where you get to explore, experiment and experience.
  • Where you get to take and make the time for you and your “whys” in what you need, desire, want, crave . . .

I use to strive for perfection and found out I was barely thriving let alone living. Perfection had me stalled and stuck. Then I learned about practicing! The one caveat was discovering my “whys” in what I needed/wanted more of in living my life.

We are continuously learning, growing and experiencing! We are continuously building confidence through opportunities to try, be, practice, do, etc. We are continuously transitioning, changing, growing and transforming through those opportunities to learn and practice our skills, talents and gifts. Learning and practicing go together and once you figure it out it so makes sense as to why they pair well together!

The best part of practicing is making it your own! From stretching and stepping outside your comfort zone. From trying and learning the new. Anything and everything is a practice to progress and experience growth!

What are you practicing?

For me . . .

  • Trying new exercise programs.
  • Writing and photographing.
  • Learning about home design.
  • Exploring new foods and experimenting with cooking.
  • Making time for me.

When I am practicing and learning I keep one main thing in mind! What two things can I take away from those experiences. In doing so through development and personal growth you find your zest for living your life. The other amazing thing is what it teaches you about yourself!

I believe that in practicing and learning you expand your world as well as yourself from the inside out! You tune into who you truly are and the essence of your spirit. You tap into your intuition, heart and mind. You communicate and connect with yourself on a whole other level!

Practice to Learn. Learn by Practice.

Practicing breaks up the norm and maybe even challenges you a bit! It can help you question your self judgment and criticism. It may help you see your self limiting beliefs and fears. It can be freeing and transformational!

Practicing builds your sense of self and being! It gives you satisfaction and joy as well as achievement and celebration. It drives and motivates you to discover your craves, desires and passions. It gives you vision and guidance as well as purpose and direction!

How Are You Practicing the Now? Love to Hear, Please Share.

Crazy Calm

Kicking It Into Neutral!

How do you seek out the calm in the constant motion!

  • How do you stay neutral?
  • How do you find your sense of calm?
  • How do you just be?

Giving yourself the space you need! To remove yourself and not be so involved. To not add in the emotion or even the reaction. It gives you room to help yourself in order to help others.

Pausing

Take the time to pause or at least slow down! Just become one in the moment. Tune out the disruptions and distractions. Release whatever has you tensed up. Remember to breathe!

Think about the pauses between inhaling and exhaling while breathing! Create the space you need to focus on one thing in the present moment. Take the time to relax and rest your mind and body. Make time to nourish and nurture you and your whole being!

  • Are you aware of the pause?
  • Are you adding in what you and your whole being need in that pause?
  • Are you aware of what your mind is doing in the pause?

Breathing

Take the time to be still and just breathe! In and out . . . create expansion aka deep breathing. Try some good strong sighing to really release whatever has you fired up (i.e. irritation, tension, frustration, overwhelm, etc.).  Release, reconnect and reset!

Think about breathing mindfully!

Being Grateful

Take a moment in the pausing and breathing to be grateful! How do you connect mindfully and spiritually to ground your physical being and body? Palms together, feet to ground and saying what you are grateful for. It brings about awareness. It makes you more present. Just focus on the now!

Balancing

Finding that balance between ease and being challenged! The proper mindset versus the attitude. Open versus closed. The communication and connection between the mind, body and soul!

Think about a practice that you can do anywhere, anytime! To pause and breathe. To balance and ground.

Grounding

Think about reconnecting with your whole being when grounding! From head to hands to feet. It is like a reset, especially for your energies. Go within yourself to determine what you need at that moment!

When I need to ground myself and my whole being I do the following.

  • Daydreaming.
  • Going on a walk about.
  • Relaxing and adding in a little bit of ease.
  • Focusing and connecting with myself and my whole being.
  • Creating that space I need to close out the world for a moment.
  • Here’s a big one – Doing Nothing!

Think about awareness, especially your mood and energy!

Lifestyle & Mindset – Part II

My Word for 2018: Health

Think about your current lifestyle and mindset . . .

  • Are you adding in the ease versus the stress?
  • Are you adding in the simple versus the strain?
  • Are you checking in with your whole being?
  • Are you BEING YOU?
  • Are you DOING for you?
  • Are you making time for you and your whole being?

Remember to practice to improve the process aka work smarter not harder!

Making Time for You

What does “ME” look like to you?

  • Are you creating balance, especially in what is a priority that matters and is important.
  • Are you creating fulfillment, satisfaction, reward, etc.
  • Are you adding in relaxation and rest.
  • Are you adding in play, laughter and fun.
  • Are you making time for yourself and your whole being.

Think about what you waste your time and energy on! Are you holding on to it or actually letting go to release it? Tuning into your self worth and values to forgive yourself to move on! It can be freeing and weight lifting.

What is Your #1 or Main Motivation!

Setting Goals

The goal at the end of the day is feeling GOOD! It gets you fired up and motivated. It gets you connected to engage and experience. It gets you aligned to have balance and stability. Do more of what you love and are passionate about in living your life fully!

  • Play, laugh and have FUN!
  • Relax and Rest.
  • Discover what makes you happy, brings you joy and gives you pleasure.

The goal at the end of the day is to do what is BEST for YOU! Be open to learning, growing and experiencing. Inspire and motivate yourself as well as encourage and engage yourself and your whole being in everything you do. Set yourself up for SUCCESS!

  • Prioritize YOU!
  • Let go of the guilt in being a little selfish in making time for your needs and taking care of yourself.
  • Listen to your whole being aka check in with yourself.

The goal at the end of the day is to be and do the BEST you can be and do! Stretch your comfort zone and try new things. Make mistakes and make them teachable moments to learn and develop from. Celebrate milestones and successes. Learn to practice and trust the process. It is amazing what you discover and realize about yourself and how you live your life!

  • Get out of the same old same old by switching it up a bit.
  • Find inspiration to motivate you.
  • Forgive yourself.

Lifestyle & Mindset – Part 1

My Word for 2018: Health

I have been changing up my lifestyle a bit and have discovered that my mind set got left behind! I like those light bulb moments that give you a little more clarity. Sometimes you become focused even to the point of hyper focused in moving forward. Sometimes you just have to pause to find your direction to make sure you are on track or at least where you need to be!

I know for me patience is not my strong suit and then getting into that mindset that everything happens for a reason is another piece to wrap my head around!

Checking In

Remember to do regular self checks to determine what is working and what is not! Pause and press reset. Pace yourself. You are a priority and need to take care of YOU!

Remember to give yourself some love too! Reset the balance to find the calm. Restart the compassion and care. Recharge the energies. Rediscover the love and joy. It truly creates flow in living your life the way you want to live it!

Being You

Being true to who you are matters! How you value yourself, especially in how you want to be treated. It encourages you to be the best version of YOU! To believe and trust in yourself. It takes courage to give yourself the freedom to be you!

Give back to you and your whole being with love, care, kindness and compassion! Tuning into your intuition. Practicing health and wellness. Appreciating and accepting you for YOU!

Think about that for a moment . . . do you appreciate and accept who you are, as you are?

Doing for You

What is your WHY? Is it a want, need, obligation, etc. Remember to value you and your needs, time and energies.

  • Nurturing and nourishing your whole being.
  • Creating space and setting boundaries.
  • Slowing down the busy and the hustle.
  • Holding on or letting go.
  • Creating, manifesting, visioning . . .

Take your self care seriously and make time for it too!

  • Experiencing . . . for growth, to live fully, to make memories . . .

BEing

BE Curious

Get curious and explore! Let your creative side loose. Let your inner kid come out to play, laugh and have fun. Be and do what makes you happy and makes your whole being feel good!

Here’s another thought on being curious . . . do you tune and tap into what you are EXPERIENCING in your curiosity!

What are you experiencing?

  • It it a teaching lesson.
  • It is a growth experience.
  • Do you just need to be with yourself for that moment.
  • Does it require no action and doing nothing in that moment.
  • Does it require you to act and take action.
  • Are you in a place of awareness.

It takes you and the experience to another level in connecting and engaging! Pause to soak it in. Center to focus in. Check in your whole being to experience!

Think about discovery and the possibilities waiting out there for you to grab!

BE Open

Are you on auto pilot or manual? Practice listening instead of speaking and/or doing. Tune in versus out. Be alert and open. Be awake and aware. What is at least one thing you can take away or learn today?

  • To be open and put yourself out there to learn, grow and experience.
  • To be the best version of yourself and to do that through self love, care, kindness, and compassion.
  • To be flexible in exploring and discovering as well as growing and experiencing.

Think about movement! To give you clarity and calmness. To give you balance and stability. To wander and ponder. It helps you work through things, figure out solutions and just keep moving!

To Just BE

  • To be mindful and present.
  • To be your time keeper in how and what you spend your time and energy on.

Think about being completely present in what you are doing right at that moment! Make the time to focus on the task at hand. To be fully engaged and connected. It is so worth it!

BE the Stretch

How can you stretch your comfort zone? It truly starts from within in how you feel. That inquiry in asking yourself what you need and why!

  • Finding the meaning and what matters in your why.
  • Awakening and growing . . .
  • Opening yourself up to the possibilities.
  • Discovering and experiencing . . .
  • Putting your focus and energy on what you truly need.
  • Empowering and emerging . . .

Think about quality versus quantity when it comes to your being, health and wellness and life in general!

BE the Moment

What are those moments that made you proud that you went for it and did it?

  • Those moments that are exciting and freeing at the same time.
  • Those moments that make you satisfied and fulfilled.
  • Those moments where your whole being is in play; mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually!

That is authentic and abundance all rolled into one whole package! To be strong in your whys and empowered to meet your needs. To reach your full potential by knowing who you are and what works best for you.  That self reflection, that self inquiry, that self check . .
