Manifesting Grit

Strength of Self

You know you are the creator of your journey, right! Creating your story. Capturing your moments. Experiencing. Knowing your “whys” to go after what you need and want as well as crave and desire!

It comes from within too! That inner voice that speaks from the heart as well as the gut. That inner energy to be and to do what is best for you and your whole, well being. That inner sense of self and staying true to who you are!

  • Your inner character.
  • Your inner strength of self.
  • Your inner being.

Each of us has a different relationship with our inner selves!

  • How you ask for help and guidance.
  • How you seek approval.
  • How you see your self and how you project and present your self.
  • How you treat and value yourself.
  • How you check in with your self.

How do you tune into your integrity and tap into your grit! Believing, trusting and valuing yourself. Communicating and connecting to yourself. Loving you for you! 

Think about how to guide yourself to where you want to be! There are times you try to “keep up” with others. There are times you need to do for you and what you need. In those times you have to think about what you value and what truly matters to you! 

  • What do you truly need? Are you going after it?
  • What do you truly know, especially about yourself and your “whys” in going after what you need?
  • Where do you want to spend your time and energies?
  • What really has meaning to you that truly matters the most?
  • What do you enjoy that makes you happy and gives you pleasure?

You really tap into that self belief and that self trust! Think about taking in your own personal counsel when making decisions. That self check and self referral! It gives you independence and empowerment. In the end you know what is best for you!

Really make the time to check in with you!

  • What is working?
  • Are you creating that space to just be for you?
  • Are you letting go and releasing what is no longer serving you and your best interests?
  • Are you truly addressing your emotions, feelings and thoughts?
  • Are you really listening and being aware in what needs your attention?

#2 – Listen To Your Body

Your body will take you down if you do not listen to it! 

Ask yourself “How do you feel?”!

  • How do you communicate, interact and connect with your whole being?
  • How does your body feel when it experiences joy and excitment as well as happiness and contentment?
  • How does your body feel when it feels passionate and has a sense of purpose?
  • How does your body feel when you are open to the possibilities and expanding yourself to the opportunities?
  • How does listening to your body instead of your mind make you feel?

#3 – Shut the “should” up

The words could, should and would need to be replaced with the words can, do and will! Along with the shoulds is the gottas and have tos. Instead start coming from a place of love and following your heart! 

Give yourself permission without the guilt in doing what you are passionate about, especially in what you love! Get curious and explore. Play, laugh and have fun; find your inner BIG kid! Do what brings you joy and happiness.

#4 – Try Not Trying

Give yourself a break! 

  • Less overthinking.
  • Being more in the present.
  • Creating space by setting boundaries to value and respect yourself.
  • Practicing to progress, grow and gain experiences.
  • Going within yourself to find YOU!
  • Listening to your inner being.
  • Leading with your heart instead of your head.
  • Making time for yourself.
  • Focusing on your breathing.
  • Taking time to relax and rest.

#5 – Tell The Truth

Telling the truth is not always easy, especially when it comes to the willingness to tell the truth to yourself! It can be tricky in finding that balance. The emotions, feelings and thoughts that the truth evokes in yourself and your whole being. It is important to express yourself and it it matters to have a voice, especially in being in control to make decisions and choices for YOU!

Baby steps can be key in getting started in telling the truth to yourself! You learn to pay attention and become more aware. You develop and experience personal growth on so many levels. You start to value, respect, believe, and trust in yourself; that is a HUGE step!

#6 – Gather Your Tribe

Be around the people who get you and value who you truly are! The communication, the interaction and the connection.Be around the people that love and support you! Love yourself and love your greatest someones. Gaining life experiences and making lifelong memories!

Just Let GO Already!

A Good Mantra To Have

I have started talking in another language. For instance . . .

  • Extreme and Constant Stress.
  • OVER Everything and Anything.
  • Burdened and Buried and Burnt!
  • Mental and Emotional Hot Mess.
  • Useless and Worthless.
  • ANGRY Self/Person!

I know some STRONG words, right!


Holding Strong

Ask Yourself These Questions Though

  1. How do you release in chaos to find calm?
  2. How do you stop caring so much about certain things?
  3. How do you let go?
  4. What do you let go of?
  5. Why is there always a cyclone of unnecessary drama and “issues” surrounding you, like Pig Pen and his cloud of dirt?


Learning To Bend

I am learning that I have to let go mentally and physically as well as emotionally and spiritually. I know I make the process harder than it needs to be and a whole lot scarier too! I am learning that it can be a freeing and loving process if I just let it happen in time and not on my time. I have to let go of the attitude and the ego as well as the perfection and expectations! This is the first step to letting go, releasing and moving on.

The hardest lesson is being the person I am and want to be! It is so exhausting to be two different people; the one I show to myself and the other one I show to other people. I am not being true to who I am and more than likely living a half-arse life too! I just want to be me and that is what matters most to me. I am a little done with the whole changing to suit other people, apologizing and just dumbing myself down!


Being Willing To Open Up

Let GO Already

  1. Let GO of the past and someday and live for TODAY!
  2. Let GO of being out of control; be in control and either accept it or change it.
  3. Let GO of my fear of the unknown, just TAKE the leap already!
  4. Let GO of the emotions, feelings and thoughts that make me look and act like a hot mess and weak.
  5. Let GO of the worrying; it usually gives me what I DO NOT WANT!
  6. Let GO of doing more and just being; that’s enough.
  7. Let GO of that ANGRY self/person and be more loving and forgiving!
  8. Let GO of breaking others down and BUILD UP instead.
  9. Let GO of the “Next Syndrome” and just enjoy the process of the journey and where I am at in my life right now.
  10. Let GO of living a life I do not have and live the life I DO HAVE!

Where My Heart Longs

To Be

Do you ever wonder if your heart is in the right place? That maybe it is showing too much or not enough. That you have lost that connection between your heart, mind and spirit. Really good question, right!

There is a major difference between feeling and thinking! For instance, how you feel versus how you think you should feel. It comes down to knowing and understanding your strengths and weaknesses and using them to your advantage! For instance, how you feel and what you think is being true to yourself as well as having open and honest communication with yourself and others.

I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve. However, I am slowly putting my heart back to where it longs to be and that is back in its natural place! I need to find the calm in my emotional self and find the balance with my emotions. Especially when it comes to sharing too much of my emotions with others!

I truly want to start speaking from my heart and not just have my emotions run the show! I am not being true to who I am if I do not listen to myself, follow my heart and trust my gut. I want to come from a place of love, kindness and compassion. However, I need more practice as well as patience in doing so! I need to discover a deeper connection in the love I have for myself too.

I reflect on expressing my true self each and every day! I am enough. I want to do what brings me joy and makes me happy! I do want to be more responsive when it comes to taking care of myself, my needs and my whole being. I am so worth it!

Checkmate

Capturing Your True Essence

Do you set yourself up by the expectations you set for yourself as well as other people? I know I have and probably will continue to do so. I am human and have my fair share of faults. I have to work at it when it comes to positioning myself in living my life!

Checkmate:  A game position in chess and other board games

in which a player’s king is threatened with capture

and there is not way to counter that threat.

Are you good at keeping the promises you set for yourself? Yes and No! It takes committment and dedication as well as effort and energy. I find myself either fighting, looking for the middle ground or letting go depending on just how bad I want something!

Do you break a few promises every now and again? Of Course! I do it to myself and let myself down by giving in and at times just giving up. The hardest part I struggle with is when I let down, give in or give up when it comes to another person!

I have also wavered when it comes to believing in myself and trusting myself! I know I am so guilty of taking the simplest things and overcomplicating it. I start to doubt and second guess myself when things seem to be too easy or effortless. I must be doing something wrong, right!

The King: The most important piece and usually the weakest piece in the game until the endgame.

The Queen:  The most powerful piece with the ability to move vertically, horizontally or diagonally. When a Pawn is promoted it is almost always promoted to a Queen.

The Pawn:  The most numerous piece and in most circumstances, also the weakest.

A Rook:  A piece in the strategy or a castle or tower.

A Bishop:  A piece in the game.

The Knight:  A piece in the game that represents a knight or armored cavalry.

Life is very much a journey where you consistently position or reposition yourself throughout the process to make progress as well as learn, grow and experience! You have to decide what player you want to be and what position you want to be in. You need to have a plan with goals to play your strategy in order to reach your desired end to the game! You have to work at what you want, including yourself.

I feel that I need to make a commitment to loving myself and giving myself a little compassion too! Within that commitment is taking care of yourself and feeling good about who you are. So important to be true to who you are by listening to yourself and your needs! I want to share that love and positive energy with myself and other people too.

That way I can deal better with the challenges and struggles that I am faced with, especially the unexpected ones! I know I have to work at it when it comes to dealing, handling and coping with the ups and downs. I know if I focus in I will recieve the desired outcome as well as come out the other side. I know I have to work at living the life I want!

When the going gets tough I am there for myself as well as lean on my support group of family and friends! I like knowing that I have my back and can ask for help if and when I need it too. I find it easier to stick to it and not give up so easily! Then I can get it over and done with and move on once again.

“Acting Up”

Constantly Trying to Fix Your Life

I know I am a fixer of my life. I can screw with it as well as screw it up in so many ways. I really do not need any additional help. I can either be a hindrance or a help to myself.

I am learning to let go and just surrender. Just accept myself and embrace who I am. I want to be accepted, but not if I have to compromise myself. I want to experience “being” instead of “acting up” when it comes to living my life!


Being . . .

In “acting up” you are trying to “live up” to someone else’s version of your life. You have given up control, lost faith in your core values and given up a little trust in yourself too. This “acting up” stems from various sources in your life. The one source you should be listening to is your inner voice, live from within yourself!

You cannot dwell on what other people think about you or it will drive you nutso! Love yourself and that love will shine outwards. Care about yourself and how you feel. The people who are meant to be in your life will be there because of how you treat yourself!

You have to accept yourself and live your own life. You need to tune in to your hopes and dreams again. You have to find that drive and passion that makes you want to just “be” out there living it! You want to experience growth and gain life experiences.

To Yourself

Back on December 5, 2012 I wrote a post called Enough Said. This post is a follow-up to that post to discuss the following question:

How do you engage your body, mind and spirit

to stimulate courage, compassion and connection

to your TRUE SELF?

I am the type of person who has a hard time finding a happy medium at times. Why you might ask? I am pretty confident and independent as well as stubborn as heck! It just gets me in trouble or creates a way for trouble to seek me out.

What I lack in courage is made up in stubborness. What I lack in compassion to myself I give to others (have been learning to put the people pleasing on the down low). I have no problems with connection because once I click with you just Watch Out!

LIVE a Full, Rich in Body, Mind and Spirit Life!

I have been trying to be more open lately; people, possibilities, experiences. I have had to really look within myself and really be true to myself in the process. It is certainly not easy at times!

DISCOVER the GIFT of BEING YOURSELF!!!

So you are probably thinking . . . Why not let your TRUE SELF out to shine to the world? There are many reasons and it changes from moment to moment, day to day, week to week, etc.

Here is my reasoning . . .

  • I really do not have a medium button, so what you see is what you get.
  • This results in being an “Acquired Taste” at times – ha!
  • In the end I love hanging out with myself and that is what matters.

Be TRUE to Yourself and SHARE that Side of You with the Ones You LOVE!!!

Do You Think You Are?

Back on December 5, 2012 I wrote a post called Enough Said. This post is a follow-up to that post to discuss the following question:

How do you let go of the “who I think you should be mentality“?

First of all humans are complex beings with multiple layers! That includes emotions, attitudes and perceptions! That includes having a purpose as to why we are here. It goes deeper than who we are, who is on our family tree and who raised us.

Everyone has an opinion when it comes to who you are, including yourself! Everyone of us has a past, present and future. Everyone of us has some type of culture as well as some type of role in society. How you respond is UP TO YOU!

You are What You Think! OR Not So Much!!!

I know the TRUE me is among the different roles I play or participate each and every day! I try to be TRUE to myself and follow my own heart and mind. Sometimes I find myself in that “who I think you should be mentality” and really try hard not to feed into that. I know I need to be TRUE to my values and beliefs and at times this places me outside my comfort zone.

As a complex being there are times that you need to give yourself pemission to take off one of those multiple layers and let the TRUE you shine! Only you can do that for yourself. Sometimes you have to listen to what is going on inside of you than what is taking place outside around you each and every day! It helps you embrace your True self; the Real person that lives inside of you.

WHO Do You THINK You Are Then???

Embark on your own personal journey and discover yourself! Just imagine the possibilities waiting for you along the way. You may just SURPRISE yourself in finding strengths you never knew you had. AMAZING RIGHT!!!

EMBRACE

Yourself

Back on December 5, 2012 I wrote a post called Enough Said. This post is a follow-up to that post to discuss the following question:

How do you EMBRACE who you are?

Does the word PERFECT grate on your nerves? Do you feel the need and pressure TO BE PERFECT? STOP That!

The one thing that just sets me on edge is the ATTITUDE and PERCEPTION of others that you do not toe the line, play the game, feed into the drama, etc! I could go on and on – blah, blah, blah. It is OKAY to change, experience growth and continue to learn as a person! Why put that added pressure and stress on ourselves? Instead get PASSIONATE, JUST BE & LIVE LIFE LARGE!!!

YOU Do Not Need to DO More, BE More, HAVE More – Just BE! You are ALREADY AMAZING!!!

Really take the time to have a heart-to-heart with yourself and remember to share your hopes, dreams and passions with the ones you love. In the end the ones that love you will be your biggest supporters as well as cheerleaders in this game called life! Really make time for yourself; even 5 minutes. Do Not Sell Yourself Short!

Really EMBRACE Yourself! You DESERVE It! LOVE Yourself!!!

At this stage in my life it is more about being true to myself and not about will people like me and accept me for who I am. I do belong and have a purpose. I do want to share my strengths and talents as well as my adventures and passions with others. The others that GET me will want to HANG with me – ha!

So . . . Why not have the “Really EMBRACE Who You Are” person in your life instead!
