Santa Barbara

The Santa Barbara Area

One of the reasons I love the Santa Barbara area is that there is so much to see and do. B-O-R-E-D-O-M will not be part of your vocabulary when you visit this area! You will get the best sleep of your life because you will have played yourself into exhausation!!!

The Endless Possibilities of Activities

We stayed at Carpinteria State Beach. The town is within walking or biking distance from the State Beach – have a grocery store, restaurants, boutiques, etc. Plus you camp within feet of the beach – go for a sunrise walk, play in the ocean, watch the sunset, etc.

Love to explore Downtown Santa Barbara. On this trip grabbed lunch at Kahuna Grill (great burgers, chicken and fish sandwiches) and checked out Au Bon Climat Winery’s tasting room (beautiful tasting room and great wines available for tasting). Just love walking around checking out the various shops (usually stop into the kitchen store) and watching the world go by.

Start out around Stern’s Wharf and bike along the ocean. You can see the giraffes at the Santa Barbara Zoo from the bike path. This time biked out to check out the Four Seasons Hotel & Resort – a beautiful property. Have experienced the Four Seasons in Palm Beach, Maui & Nevis – all beautiful and unique in their own way. We stopped at Brophy Bros. Seafood Restaurant and Calm Bar for lunch – located at the Santa Barbara Marina. I indulged and had the fried shrimp and a glass of bubbly. I love being able to sit outside and watch the boats and kayaks come and go while eating lunch.

Mornings on the Beach

I love taking a walk on the beach in the mornings to check out the shells, rocks, creatures, and harbor seals. Ever need motivation to work out throughout the day live by a beach!

I love watching the sun set over the ocean. One night watched the sun set right from Carpinteria State Beach with a glass of red wine. Another night enjoyed watching the sun set while checking out Padaro Grill for dinner. The grill offers picnic tables in the back and were able to grab a perfect spot to watch the sun go down. I had the fish tacos and the sweet potato fries were amazing. Slowly moved to the adult area once the staff lit the fire pit – nice place to hang out on a Summer evening.
