Showered With Many Colors

On the Hawaiian Islands

The rainbows were showing off on this trip to the Hawaiian Islands! Not one rainbow, but four rainbows! I am excited when I see one rainbow on my travels to Hawaii. Everyone – “Somewhere over the rainbow . . .

Once in a Lifetime

Sea Turtle SURPRISE!

To see a sea turtle free and wild is such an AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! Just watching this sea turtle come ashore with its massive shell and overall weight is an impressive sight. I have seen sea turtles in the ocean while wading, but this is a whole new experience to see one come ashore. I will never forget this SURPRISE experience!

The Napali Coast

An Impressive Sight to Experience!

The Napali Coast is what I dreamed Kauai would look like! The ocean, the waves, the palms trees, and the overall ruggedness. It has that true Hawaiian Island feel about it. I fell head over heels in love with Kauai after experiencing the Napali Coast!

Seeing the Sights

Waimea Canyon

Is this the Grand Canyon? Yes, of the Pacific! Waimea Canyon is massive (about 10 miles long and up to 3,000 feet deep). Impressive with its reds and greens as well as the rain moving in

Kalalau Lookout

The Kalalau Lookout provides a breathtaking panaromic view – the drop to the sea is 4,000 feet below! Out of the Rain and Mist Comes a Band of Many Colors.

Wai’ale’ale

I have to agree about being one of the wettest spots on earth – a little soggy by the time I reached the car! Over 450 inches of rain per year.

Kilauea Lighthouse

The 52-foot Kilauea Lighthouse is on the northernmost tip of Kauai. On the lookout for humpback whales and found some seabirds instead. This area is also known for the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge, a sanctuary for seabirds. Be on the lookout for boobies and albatrosses nesting in the ruggedness.

Opaekaa Falls

The Opaekaa Falls were featured in the movie “Blue Hawaii”.

Wailua Falls

Made famous by the TV show “Fantasy Island”.

The “Garden Isle”

Green, Lush, Breathtaking!

O-M-G – My 1st visit to Kauai DID NOT disappoint! A Beautiful Island to Experience as well as Explore and Adventure. Everywhere I turned was either the blue of the ocean or the green, lush palm trees, gardens and fauna and floral. What a Natural Beauty!

Enjoy My Snapshot Tour of The “Garden Isle”!

“Isle of Chickens”

Roosters, Hens, Baby Chicks!!!

Kauai is the “Isle of Chickens”! It will become apparent pretty quickly that feral chickens run every where on the island. The Roosters are the kings and the hens are the queens with their chicks following in the royal procession. Enjoy!

Another thing that will become apparent is that the roosters “COCK-A-DOODLE-DOOOOO!” throughout the day.
