Taking Conversation to a NEW Level

For the Better,

Better Connections & Better Interactions

I am so guilty of saying “use your words”! However, sometimes silence is best!

I have been working on being a better listener. I struggle with it and some days are better than other days. I am an interrupter and like to get my two cents into the conversation. I also find myself jumping to the conclusion that I KNOW what that person is going to say. Annoying, right!

In working on being a better listener I learned an important lesson! I tuned into my senses! I am working on being more self-aware of myself and other people around me. Interesting, right!

Some powerful communication as well as conversation going on without words! I am more aware of my body language and tuning into the body language of other people. I prefer to look a person in the eye when speaking to them, so imagine doing that without speaking. I found a calmness and collectedness about myself, which was just akwardness before!

I also found a connectedness that I have hid deep within myself! I love just being with no words exchanged. I enjoy reveling in that quiet and silence and stillness. I am discovering a new way to connect, to interact and to share.

I envision standing in the forest in the snow with nothing but silence surrounding me. I envision the sand between my toes with the waves coming in and going back out again. I envision becoming one with nature with the light coming through the trees. I envision sitting by the campfire with the stars above me.

I have the ability to find peace of mind when feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated and on overload! I have the ability to protect myself when how I am feeling is reflected in the way I communicate and interact with other people. I have the ability to preserve my energies when I take a “time out” to reset, recharge and reenergize. I have the ability to find the simple life once again when being appreciative and thankful for what I do have in my life!

Here’s the BEST part! I love myself more when it comes to connecting more deeply, interacting more fully and sharing myself, my gifts and my love with other people. I find my calm, my solitude and my peace of mind. I enjoy putting the BEST of me out into this crazy world!

Feeling Connected

From Your Feet to Your Head

How do you connect with yourself from your feet to your head?


There is just something about connecting with your whole being and going within yourself for a while! I get a little tired, stressed and anxious with the fast pace and OVER doing of everything and anything. I am working on slowing down and just being more. It does a whole being GOOD to connect each and every day!

My Top 2

  1. Going for a walkabout.
  2. Exercising.

Do you ever just go for a walkabout to connect with yourself?

I love being outside in the Great Outdoors! I feel more connected with myself, especially with the sun on my face and my feet touching the ground. I am able to decompress and just become one with my breathe. There is just something about being outside in nature that refreshes and reenergizes my whole being!

I have a whole different demeanor about myself when outside! My pace slows down along with my thoughts. I feel as if a weight has been lifted off me too! I prefer a walkabout instead of meditation to center myself and find my balance once again.

I get my three cravings in when I go for a walkabout too! 1) Exploring. 2) Adventuring. 3) Photography.

Do you get your exercise on to connect with yourself?

The best place I found that whole connection with myself was on the yoga mat, especially the corpse pose where I could just relax and release myself! I have been sidelined from yoga and who knows maybe in the near future can practice again. There is nothing better than a whole body stretch! It is so refreshing and reenergizing too.

I feel connected to myself in the gym getting a total body workout!  I am learning to control my breathe by knowing when to breathe in and when to breathe out. I am amazed how much power my breathe has in connecting with myself and my movements when working out! The pressure and tension as well as the stress and anxiety are released and reduced for my whole being.

For me exercising has many benefits! I am able to concentrate and focus in on the motion and movement. I am improving my brain memory as well as my muscle memory in working out. I get a deeper and sounder sleep too.

Being One

With Your Thoughts

I am pretty good at tuning into or tuning out my emotions and feelings! It is my thoughts that I need to be aware of, pay attention to and be mindful about more. I usually become one with my thoughts when my mind continues to race while I am trying to sleep! I do experience some of my best ideas while sleeping though.

I think the majority of us live in the land of distractions and disruptions on a daily basis! It is hard enough to tune out distractions and disruptions and then your mind is going full speed ahead too. I find it hard to focus and pay attention. I find it hard to find balance and calm. I have to take the time to be with myself and just unplug and disconnect at times! Otherwise I will need a very soft place to land!

Racing or Coasting

I do not want to live in chaos and crazy busyness as well as constant anxiety and stress! I want to let go, release and just surrender more than I already do in living my life. It does my body good when my well being is aligned and balanced with my whole being. I need to listen to myself, follow my heart and tap into my intuition and instincts again!

I am working on being more mindful of my thoughts in order to not be so on all the time and to not be so on constant stress mode all the time! I want to focus on the good and the positive in my life. I want to be more in the present moment and just enjoy the journey. I want to put my energies into creating a healthier and happier lifestyle and live the life I want!

Hello Boost!!!

What do you do that makes you feel good and gives you energy?

I am talking about practices you can do for yourself every day! I am talking about connecting with your whole being and sharing your good energy with other people!

I prefer to start my day on a positive note! I prefer to have a brighter day than a downer day. Why not have the mindset to have a better day every day! I know I want to do more of what makes me happy and makes me feel good in living my life.

Makes Me Smile


I love finding solitude to reconnect and reenergize! I enjoy getting outside and becoming one with nature and its beauty and its sounds. I enjoy reading a great book. I enjoy taking time for myself.



I enjoy connecting, interacting and communicating with another being! The majority of my relationship catch-ups are done online. So when I do get face-to-face time I take full advantage of it! I want to continue to develop and build healthier relationships in my life. I am moving these relationships to the top of my priority list! I am working on my listening skills. I am learning to give and receive, especially compliments!



I want to BE more and that means in the present moment too! I want to focus on the task at hand and get swept up in it fully and completely. I need to put the camera down more and be in the moment doing it and making my own memories. I DO NOT want to miss out on a thing!



Nothing gives me more energy than affection and appreciation! I need to be more kind and be more mindful to myself and other people. I want to show and share my appreciation and gratitude with myself and other people, especially in living the life I do have and wanting more of it! I know I crave it.

Feeling . . .


I love being motivated and staying active! I enjoy getting my exercise on at least 2 to 3 times a week. It makes me feel more connected to myself and recharges my batteries too! It makes me want to be a healthier version of myself.

Travel, Adventure & Explore


The best thing I can do for myself is to smile and laugh; give it and receive it! My smile is one act of kindness that I can carry with me and share anytime and anywhere. I know it makes my day and hopefully makes someone’s else day too. Pass It On!

Releasing What No Longer Serves You

Developing a Deeper You

I am taking a new approach in living my life!

I really want to put my energy and time into what serves me best! I am really learning to evaluate what I need in my life to keep it as simple as possible too. I am finding that balance that works best for me. I am listening to myself and my needs too. Especially when I find myself on “OVER Everything”!

I am a little over swinging from one extreme to the next! I want to find that release that is restorative and reserves my time and energy. I need to remember to schedule myself in more and take care of myself and my needs! That is one reason I exercise throughout the week because it is a great release and is restorative to my whole being.

Releasing . . . Grounding

I feel better when I connect, interact, engage, and communicate with myself and other people on a daily basis! I enjoy time to myself too. I am working on creating, building and developing healthier relationships, especially with my greatest someones! I want to be there and be supportive as well as share, give and receive too.

I need to be able to connect to myself from the inside out! I want to be open to the possibilities and to the opportunities. I want to be able to challenge myself and to be able to stimulate my whole being. I know I need to find my sense of calm and just be! I want to avoid the crazy busyness and multi tasking and just focus in on the moment or task at hand. Just be an active participant when it comes to growing and gaining life experiences!

Think about this! I envision standing in Mountain Pose and rooting myself from my feet to the top of my head. Did you know that no one is completely even on each side! I am aware of my posture and my breathing. I am focused on standing evenly on both feet. I am looking for my balance or my evenness. I love raising my arms above me too!

How to Find

Your “Got It Going On”

You know those people who have IT! I would love for someone who has IT to spill and share the secret to having it going on. How do you draw people in and make that connection? I am in awe and a little envious too!

Most times I have people going in the opposite direction when around me, especially for the 1st time! I need to find my sense of calm in order to relate and connect with other people better. It certainly does not come naturally let alone effortlessly to me. I am an introvert who has an extrovert personality screaming to come out!

I am sure the people who have IT going on wish that those of us who do not would just go away at times too! It is very much a Catch-22 at times!

I enjoy being around people who are positive, independent thinkers and on the happier side of life! However, sometimes I go at it all wrong and that causes me to disengage and disconnect with other people. I am drawn to those energies and want to join in and share. I am learning to live from within and be true to who I am! Love yourself and share that love with other people!

I have great self-esteem and confidence going on, but it is a bit much for some at times! My filter falls off from time and time and my sense of humor is only funny to me. I have that “I do not care” mentality going on when I am just trying to be reserved and respectful towards other people.

I am so not graceful either! So I either stick out in a crowd or break out my inner wall flower to blend in. I can so turn heads and guarantee some looks coming my way. I look good and feel good, but I attract the wrong attention at times. I need to let what I feel inside just SHINE!

I think for me it comes down to being in the present and being more mindful in order to CONNECT! I need to find that CONVICTION to love more and appreciate what I do have in my life! I want to be COMMITTED to living the life I already have! I WANT more of it too!

Tap Into It

Your Natural Rhythm

I have been enjoying my journey of self and it amazes me what I keep within myself at times! It is like you have discovered a jigsaw puzzle within yourself that you are slowly putting together piece by piece. Sometimes two or more pieces just CLICK! Then something you have been discovering or struggling with just becomes so much clearer due to that click.

Due to these CLICKS I have been trying to really tap into what already exists within myself! It is a little scary at times with a twist of excitement too. I feel that tapping into what already exists within myself is just finding that “natural rhythm” that I have put on the down low for years! Most of this has come about in trying to figure out how to lessen the stress in my life lately.

It is such a beautiful connection to make and have in your life! You become more aware on a daily basis. You find that “natural rhythm” that you DID NOT know was missing in your life! Talk about connecting with your emotions in a good way.

Have you ever thought about what the 4 seasons means to you and your body? Think of awakening in Spring, think of full of life in Summer, think harvesting and reaping (the rewards) in Fall, and think solitude in Winter. It is about connecting to that harmony and finding balance for yourself from the inside out!

Do you ever find yourself so stressed and so out of whack and maybe even a little out of control? It is your body’s way of telling you that you are out of sync! You have to tune into that, lessen the stress and get back on track. Otherwise that bad cycle will continue to wear on your body as well as your mind and spirit. That is not good and certainly not healthy for you!

My biggest struggle is perfection! I am turning my attention instead to progress in living the life I want. I feel like my energies are better spent on nurturing and nourishing myself and sharing that with other people. Take a  very different perspective when it comes to adding fullness to your life in a good and positive way!

Spending Time

With Your Greatest Someone

I have talked about “me” time and going solo, but how about spending time with your greatest someone! That greatest someone that lifts you up and makes you feel great. I enjoy the quality time and just reconnnecting. Do not do enough of it though!

I prefer spending time with my greatest someone in person, face-to-face. When that is not possible I try to remember to pick up the phone instead of shooting off a quick e-mail. I have been slacking a bit and have not been sending out old fashion cards or letters lately. I will have to remember to do that every so often.

Think about how you spend time with your greatest someone. As little distractions as possible; no televisions or technology. Really think about the last time you spent with your greatest someone and had a real conversation. Feels Great Right!

In some ways I think I have lost the art of having a real conversation by phone. I find myself sounding like a robot when I am having a phone conversation. Hello!, Yup, Yup, Yup, Goodbye! I remember the days when an hour would just fly by when having a conversation with a family member or friend or significant other.

Let’s take back the art of real conversation and really connect with another being; human that is!
