Adventuring

Outside

How about another way to be “connected”! A good majority of us spend time commuting to work, desk jockeying and “connecting” with technology. A good majority of us lead a healthy and happy lifestyle too!

Are you aware or not if you get enough of the natural though? Stopping work to gaze out the window is a great break idea. You relax and refocus – just let the mind and body wander and release. It can be refreshing and re-energizing too. Then you are ready to get back to it and tackle it!

Switch Up that screen time to scenic time!

Where does your mind go when you think about the most beautiful place you have seen?

I know what some of your are thinking . . .

Great! I love and live for the outside world.

No Thank You! I am good inside.

That is okay though! You can either go to nature or bring it indoors!

Getting outside or bringing the outdoors in does a whole being GOOD!

GO on an Adventure! Take a little risk and push yourself out of your comfort zone. Learn new skills and abilities and gain experiences. Storytelling, capturing (i.e. through the creative – photography, painting, etc.) and making memories.

A FREE form of movement, activity and exercise! Switch up the routine. Develop inner and outer strength. Spend quality time with yourself and your whole being.

  • Improve function in general (i.e. mental, emotional, physical, etc.).
  • Energizing and invigorating.
  • Stress reducing.

Play, laugh and have FUN! Take a walk, search for the natural (i.e. shells, fauna and flora, wildlife, etc.), garden, meditate, etc. Join in on a group activity. The possibilities are limitless!

  • Pure enjoyment.
  • Escaping to the natural – refresh, renew and get back on track.
  • R&R

BE in the present moment and mindful! Pause and reflect. Take in the air around you (i.e. pine forests, salt water, etc.). Stop to take in the scenic views. Savor and soak in the experience!

  • Mindfulness and calmness.
  • Focus vs. distraction(s).
  • Creativity

ADD in the natural and greenery to your home and working environment! Plants and florals. Find a room with a view or just a view in general (i.e. window, photos, etc.). Find your green space to escape to for the natural (i.e. grass, parks, gardens, etc.).

  • Receiving a dose of the natural (i.e. air, green, sunlight, etc.).
  • Engaging your senses.
  • Add in the food element (i.e. farmers market, you pick fruits and veggies, gardening, etc.).

From May 2015 - March 2016, Sherry and Sean traveled the country and lived in a 5th wheel R.V. They took pictures, hiked mountains, and saw amazing sights. They are now settled in Fort Myers, Florida and are continuing to take pictures and seeing amazing sights. This is the blog of their journey from leaving St. Louis and starting an adventure, to living in Florida and doing photography. Enjoy the stories, and leave comments if you have one to share!
