Resetting

One’s Life

2015 for me was about “resetting” my life!

I felt like I needed a change! I knew it needed to be major, bold and big though. Like a giant kick in the pants kind of change! 

It was the BEST decision reset I have made! Moving from Out West to the Southeast. Exploring and adventuring. Settling in and making friends. Looking for a place to call home. The NEW!ness of it all is refreshing!

The greatest gift of “resetting” for me is that I am healthier as well as happier! Finding a good balance between being active and slowing the pace down. R&R! Finding the pleasurable and being motivated. Exploring and adventuring!


Resetting . . . Re-balancing . . . Relaxing . . .

It is doable though to get out of the rut and start resetting the life you want, crave and need! Start hoping and wishing as well as dreaming and desiring again. Get back on track and journey along!  


Refreshing . . . Reaching . . . Re-imagining . . .

There is going to be gains and rewards! There is going to be risks and fears. This is part of the natural process when it comes to change!

To love, belief and trust in myself that this is where I need to be at this point in my life! To listen and follow my heart as well as my intuition. To baby step and nudge my way through the process! To think and plan to make this major change happen. The gains and rewards are the BEST!

Philippe Park

Old Tampa Bay

There is a one-mile shoreline pathway where you can take in the view of Old Tampa Bay.

2525 Philippe Parkway in Safety Harbor, Florida. The park was acquired in 1948 making it the oldest park in Pinellas County.

  • Indian Mound

Count Odet Philippe

Count Odet Philippe introduced citrus as well as cigar making to Tampa Bay. The park was part of the original Philippe plantation (1842 – 160 acres) and several citrus trees still remain. His descendents include the McMullen and Booth families (for whom McMullen-Booth Road is named) who are among the county’s most well known pioneers. Count Philippe died in 1869 and was buried on his plantation, which is now within the park grounds. However, the exact location of the grave site is not known.

His Grave Marker Inscription states:

Born Lyon, France 1787
Died at this Site 1869

As the first European
settler in Pinellas County
he established St. Helena
Plantation, now Philippe Park
Philippe was the first
to cultivate grapefruit
in Florida and introduced
cigar making to Tampa
His descendants populated
this frontier. He was
said to be a doctor
and of noble birth

My Biggest Lesson

For 2015

My BIGGEST Lesson for 2015 was Practicing to Progress!

  • Practicing healthiness and happiness.
    • Through reflection and personal growth, especially practicing to release and just let go.
    • Being an active being.
    • Playing, laughing and having FUN!
  •  Practicing by doing what is best for me and my whole being.
    • Practicing to progress and the process of just trying.
    • Seeing the big picture as well as the details.
    • I like the me I am becoming and I think I am falling in love with her too!

  • Practicing to come from a place and really follow my heart.
    • Focusing on my needs and wants.
    • Doing what I love.
    • Taking risks and going for it!
  • Practicing my path to journey along and create my story.
    • Taking charge and letting go of what I have no control over.
    • It is meant to be it will be.
    • Knowing when it feels good I know I am where I need to be!

I am working on the following:

  • Patience – being in the moment.
  • Patience – not having to know everything, especially the outcome.
  • Patience – letting go in general – no more pushing, pulling, forcing, perfecting, etc.

On Yourself

The Relationship of Y-O-U

How important is building a fulfilling life for yourself, especially your health and your happiness?

That relationship with yourself and your whole being! You are responsible for your own fulfillment and no one else can provide that for us. You give yourself inspiration and energy as well as motivation and passion. You communicate, interact and connect to you and your self on all levels! 

Showing yourself the love  . . . Building on it . . . Strengthening it . . .

You validate yourself from within by listening to your inner voice, coming from a place of love and believing and trusting in yourself! Self esteem and self confidence. Self love and self support. Self dependence and self independence. Physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

That relationship with yourself that makes you want to share it with others. You like yourself as well as attract others that want to be in the circle. That relationship with yourself that makes you open your heart to let love in. You nurture and nourish yourself and your wants and desires as well as your needs and wishes.

Presence of love . . .

The whole package that is you; your body, your heart, your mind, your relationships, etc.

  • Engage your mind, your heart and your body fully and completely.
  • Embrace your gifts and talents and learn to share them with others.
  • Practice and practice some more.

The body needs to move and be active. Get moving, dance, play, laugh and have FUN. The body also needs to relax and rest. Eat good and sleep better because it helps you heal your whole being.

The heart needs you to follow it and come from a place of l-o-v-e. Stimulate it by going after what motivates you and gets you passionate. Do what you love to do.

The brain is a muscle that needs regular exercise each and every day. By engaging as well as increasing your brain function you can learn, develop and experience growth. By tuning into your emotions, feelings and thoughts you can lower your stress and anxiety. By loving yourself you can express that love, kindness, caring, compassion, support, and empathy to yourself and others.

The relationship you have with yourself is very important. You are your best friend, cheerleader, supporter, protector, etc. The relationship you have with yourself depends on that relationship to live, create, develop, grow, experience, etc.

You are a human being that needs human contact, interaction and connection. You are finding love and companionship. You are finding wisdom and humor. You are finding you and sharing who you are with other people.

The Park

Located at 2750 Park Trail Lane in Clearwater, Florida.

Hours: Open Thursday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Open Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed All City Recognized Holidays.

No pets permitted inside the park with the exception of guide or service  dogs.

A 51-acre nature preserve with trails and boardwalks. Mature oaks. Ponds and creeks. Birdlife and wildlife. It is home to several injured birds of prey.

  • 1 1/4 mile of natural and boardwalk trails

  • 3-acre watershed restoration area
  • Picnic shelters

Moccasin Lake Environmental Education Center

A natural retreat in an urban environment setting. A place to explore a small piece of Florida’s natural history. Walk nature trails. Native fauna and flora as well as birdlife (egrets, ospreys, etc.) and wildlife (turtles, gators, butterflies, etc.).

Practicing Endurance

Your endurance comes from the physical and mental as well as the emotional and spiritual! It can be felt as a positive or negative depending on the situation. It can be freeing or challenging or both at the same time from an external as well as internal level!

It is one skill that is worth practicing to lead a good, happy and healthy life!

I think about neutrality when it comes to endurance. That tendency to not side in a conflict. Being neutral. The mental against the physical. Being unbiased. The self control and self discipline that one tunes into as well as taps into when dealing with a challenge or a conflict in their lives.

Physical Endurance

Heightens Awareness within your whole being!

Practicing to progress. . . There is going to be discomfort and even hurt and pain at times. You can find that place within you to fight or flight in order to overcome the physical as well as deal with the mental and emotional. Finding that self discipline to strengthen your endurance. Being aware and in the present moment. Being open and embracing the learning, the growing and the gaining of experiences.

Mental Endurance

Helps You Deal!

Practicing to learn. . . Finding that self control. Finding the ease among the pushing and the pulling. Taking the time to make good and positive choices and decisions. Knowing when to engage the brain or the heart.

Emotional Endurance

Builds Your Character and Strength!

Practicing to grow. . . Tuning into our emotions, feelings and thoughts. Tapping into our emotional strengths and weaknesses. Listening to your inner voice, following your heart and trusting your gut. Being true to who you are and believing and trusting in yourself. Discovering your strong! 

Spiritual Endurance

Helps You Explore Your Inner Self! 

Practicing to release and let go. . . Finding that balance between discipline and devotion. Being positive in your mind and coming from a place of love by following your heart. Experiencing freedom, joy and happiness. Being mindful, aware and present. Believing and trusting in yourself that you are right where you most want to be in living your life fully!

 Never Giving Up

If you feel like giving up, pause and/or stop and be in the moment! Be open to change, especially your perspective and your mindset. Find what drains your energies. Discover what gives you ultimate strength to move forward!

Know when to surrender, release and let go! The negative. The self defeating thoughts. The limiting beliefs. Practice to progress . . .

  • Come from a place of love in order to overcome your fears.
  • Change weaknesses into your greatest strengths.
  • Being able bodied and open minded.
  • Engage and explore with your whole being to journey along and create your story!

Your surrender to the perfected self in having everything right as well as the ego self in having to be right! No one can do it all. It is okay to lean for support and ask for help! It is better to surrender than collapse or plain just give up. It is finding what works best for you and discovering yourself on all levels! Most of all love and happiness.  

CELEBRATE the successes . . . the experiences . . . each and every moment . . . making memories!

“Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back and reasons to stay.”

“Roots to know where home is, wings to fly away and exercise what has been taught them.”

I strongly believe in giving my greatest someones the love and support to be who they are! I want the same for myself. I have the ability to grow (fly), to return (roots) and many reasons to stay (love)! I know where home is and where to return after exploring and adventuring as well as traveling and experiencing.
