My Social Side

In Being An Introvert

I am an introvert! However, I do love being social!

  • I am shy and reserved.
  • I can be loud.
  • I am interactive. I just do not connect at times.
  • I have an inner circle of people I interact, communicate and connect with well.
  • I can be lots of fun.
  • I am social. I just do not do it with ease.
  • I also need to find my comfort zone when around new people. I will eventually open up more.
  • I am observant and introspective.
  • I have an inner energy that craves quiet and solitude the majority of the time.
  • I love being around people that energize me, especially positive and good energies.

I am a little jealous of people who have it and socialize with ease! I wish I could click and communicate and connect like that!

I am an observant person and like watching what is going on around me, especially people watching! I am the type of person that goes inside my head too. I can read and creatively write for hours. I enjoy spending time with my camera in hand. I need to get out of my head more and connect with other people much better than I do!

I just do not find an ease or comfort to it and forget about relaxing around a group of strangers! I feel like I am interrupting or intruding. I feel like I will have nothing to add let alone it be something interesting. My sense of humor can go so wrong too!

Here’s To Finding My Calm and Easing Into It!!!

The Act of Confidence

Comes From

Within Yourself

Do you remember being taught as a child to build confidence and become more sociable with others? I do and still do this in adulthood. I can say then and even now I do better one-on-one or with a small group of people to start with when it comes to meeting new people. I know for me it really helps that I am comfortable with myself!

I enjoy my “me” time and just taking time for myself! I also enjoy taking care of myself and my needs too. I have developed some self care practices over the years that helps me relax, refresh and reenergize!

  • Traveling, adventuring and exploring.
  • Getting outside to become one with nature and the great outdoors.
  • Being creative; writing and photography.

  • Spending quality time with my greatest someone.
  • Living that healthy lifestyle by eating and fueling my whole body.
  • Scheduling down time to unplug and unwind.

Feeling GOOD

  • Being active and exercising.
  • Playing, laughing and having FUN!
  • Slowing down the pace, pausing and connecting to my breathe again.

I do not know what my whole being needs when I am running around like a crazed person! I need to slow down to connect with myself and get in touch with my needs. I need to tune into myself from the inside out to find my calm and balanced self again. I feel refreshed and reenergized and ready to go again!

When I feel good I feel more comfortable and confident around other people! I have the motivation and energy to be a social being again. I want to spend quality time to communicate, interact and connect with other people, especially my greatest someones! I want to develop and deepen those relationships.

I enjoy being my own best friend and being able to do things by myself! I like having that connection and relationship with myself. I am learning to follow my heart and do more of what I love to do. I love me for me and that makes me feel good about my whole being!

My Passions

  • Adventuring and exploring with my greatest someone.
  • Reading, writing and photography.
  • Tasting foods and drinks.

I feel more natural and confident when I am doing what I love and fueling my passions! I am inspired and motivated to get out there and experience anything and everything. I am happy and it makes me feel good.  I learn and grow as I gain life experiences!

I have discovered in being appreciative and grateful for what I do have makes me a more confident person! I find it important to practice gratitude in order to live a rich, abundant and happy life. I find it possible, available and doable to live the life I do have and wanting more of it too!

My Mantras

  • Discovering My Strong.
  • Be Fierce.
  • I matter. I am worthy. I am enough.

(Photos by RSheridan)

I also have multiple mantras going through my head on a daily basis to boost my mood and my confidence! I find it really shifts my perspective and perception for the better and to come from a place of love instead of fear.  I find it helps me grow as a person when I shake things up, try new things and just stretch my comfort zone. I find that it challenges me and truly shows me what I am made of!

Working It Out

From the Inside Out

The biggest lesson I have learned in creating this healthier lifestyle is that everything is connected!

I am learning . . .

  • How to move my body in the proper way.
  • How to breathe throughout the motions and movements.
  • How to align my body properly and watch my posture.
  • How to avoid or decrease hurt, pain and/or injury.
  • How to eat to address inflammation.
  • How to nourish my whole being.
  • How to nurture my whole being.

I went into nutrition mode! Protein, good fats and amino acids. Nutrients, minerals and vitamins. Fruits, veggies and plenty of water. I am noticing changes for the better and my body seems to be working more effectively and efficiently!

Eating properly is as important as being active! I am seeing the benefit, reaping the rewards and making great gains in my overall health. My immune system is a big player too! I have noticed that I am more physically able when my immune system is working properly and functioning at its best for me.

I am giving my joints, my muscles and my bones the love and the attention that my body needs and craves! I have done and continue to do wear and tear to my body in being an active person. I feel pretty great in the practice and the progress that I am making in becoming a healthier person!

Working It Out

By Communicating,

Connecting and Interacting

I have been experiencing too much stress in my life lately! So not good for my whole being. My emotional health is just as important as my physical health. I am really trying to practice at the end of the day to release and just let go of all that “stuff”!

Everything is connected and has a direct impact on my whole being! I have to address the issues I am experiencing. This includes dealing with my emotions, feelings and thoughts. This includes controlling my crazy mind and giving myself some much needed love. It means putting myself back in the power seat and making a major commitment to myself to be in control! To be the one that makes the choices, the decisions and the changes in living my life!

I can play the victim or be my own hero in living this crazy life! I need to tune into what gives me motivation and energy. I need to tap into my curiosity. I need to connect with my values and my beliefs as well as my faith and my spiritual self. Just do away with all that “stuff” that I end up using to create unnecessary problems for myself!

I have been closing myself off, resisting and holding myself back! I am exhausted and need to do away with the worry, the anger, the anxiety, and just the pressure I put on myself. I do not like that person. I do not want to be stuck in this holding pattern any longer!

I need to engage, communicate, interact, and connect, especially with myself again! I want to start new every day and be more in the present moment. I want to be able to focus on the task at hand and enjoy the process. Live for the moment and make lifetime memories!

My Top 3 Practices To Get Back On My Path

  1. Give myself personal space to just be with myself and reset my personal boundaries.
  2. Get curious and explore and adventure.
  3. Let go and release that “stuff” that takes up space, is not important and does not matter.

Do You Take The Time To Recharge Your Batteries?

I feel better and at my best when I take the time to relax and recharge! I feel like I accomplish more in a shorter period because I am not running on fumes. I feel more clear headed when well rested. I actually feel like I have the energy to get out there and get it done!

What Do You Do For Yourself?

  2. Treat myself to some much needed indulgence.
  3. Play, laugh and have fun.
  4. Get outdoors and become one with nature.

Taking A Time Out

To Do What You Want and

To Do What You Love To Do

Do you add play time to your day?

I like to schedule in my play time and leisure time throughout the week and the month! Be it 5 minutes to 15 minutes to 30 minutes during the week. Be it 30 minutes to 1 hour or longer on the weekends. I have put the guilt on the down low and do it for myself and my whole being. I am a better person for it and to be around!

There are so many FREE options available too! Hitting the trail to going to the park to hanging out in the great outdoors. Gathering and hanging out with family and friends. Taking the time to read, write, photograph, and just be creative. Just find a place to play, leisure and escape for a while!

Do you add movement and motion to your day?

I pretty much have to move around every 3o minutes to an hour or I become the tin man; need oil STAT! It takes work to get the whole being to work efficiently and effectively. It is about making better choices when it comes to eating, moving and being well. Instead of thinking about exercising think about playing and having fun!

Do you make every day the weekend?

I know this one is a stretch and even I struggle with it come Monday! I know for me it is more about reflecting on the past weekend or looking forward to the coming weekend that inspires, motivates and drives me. I like to let my week and weekend unfold and not schedule it to the Nth degree! It gives me freedom and adds some spontaneity to my week. It boosts my mood and makes me happy!

Do you escape to wander and get lost?

I am talking about . . .

  • Day dreaming, visioning and meditating.
  • Getting outside for a walk.
  • Taking a nap and dreaming a little dream.
  • Reading, writing and being creative.
  • Arm chair traveling and looking at photography.
  • Sleeping in or spending time at home.

I find it a great way to connect to my whole being! To nurture and nourish. To be curious and explore. I find it feeds and fuels my creativity and passions!

Do you release and let go throughout the day? Breathe in, Breathe Out!

I find it cleansing to release and let go throughout the day! I can connect with my breathe and start anew. It is about being mindful and aware as well as being grateful! It helps control and keep in check the emotions, the reactions and the attitude. Hold on to the good experiences and let the rest go!

Do you indulge? Within reason and moderation of course.

I am not talking just about eating, but doing something nice for yourself! I enjoy a  little indulgence now and then because it makes living my life a little better and even a little sweeter. We all know where restriction and deprivation gets us at times. Just a little pick me up in treating yourself every once in a while!

Have you laughed today? Hard and uncontrollable where you almost PYP – ha!

There is nothing better or more cleansing then a good laugh! The type of laughter that burns calories and has your stomach muscles feeling the burn. I like when you get the giggles and it pretty much lasts all day long. Just find something that makes you laugh throughout the day!

Here’s to Doing The Best For Your Whole Being and Finding What Works Best For You In Doing It! Love to Hear, Please Share!

Getting Schooled

Lesson Time

Do you have a particular lesson that continues to show up in your life?

I do! Sometimes it is nice and other times it hard knocks me in the head. Why? What am I NOT getting?

STOP hitting the repeat button already!

Doing . . .

It is one thing to know what I need and what I want, but it does not happen when I want it to happen! I cannot time it or schedule it to just happen. I certainly have no control over certain things! Why do I worry and stress? Why do I add pressure and tension? Just let it go, right!

I need to do what I love and spend my time doing that instead! I need to do what makes me happy and brings me joy. I need to take pleasure in that. Maybe the lessons would be more enjoyable and fun!

Being . . .

I need to be in control and take charge in living my life! I need to release the ego and let go of the attitude that is trying to take control and be in charge at times. I need to have self confidence instead of self doubt and fear. I need to use my energy and power for the good and the positive!

I also need to be in control and take charge of my emotions, feelings and thoughts! I need to reign it in instead of it riding right over me, especially in emotionally charged situations. I am working on leaning into discomfort and facing my feelings and fears! I find it doable and that I can cope and deal. I find my comfortable place to be okay with it and move on again!

Practicing . . .

The most important lesson that comes back to me in a good way is to always love myself no matter what! I tap into feeling good about myself because it helps me feel good about what is going on. I tune into my confidence and own it. I look at my needs and what I care about and let the rest go!

I am practicing patience, but I still have very little of it to give to myself let alone others! I am finding that when I am in the moment and focusing on the task at hand that patience becomes a little easier because I am in the process. I am enjoying the process. I am discovering that good things happen in being patient!

Slowing . . .

I enjoy slowing down and being mindful! I am amazed at what I am aware of and what I pay attention to now. I am able to tune in to myself from the inside out and connect with myself. It is exciting and fulfilling!

In slowing down I am taking the time to relax and rest too! I need that down time not only for my sanity, but for my whole being. I feel less panicked and do not feel that fight or flight response either. It all works out in the end, so why not ease into it, relax and just get comfortable!

Better Interactions

With Yourself and Others

I find myself pausing when I see a child interacting with their surroundings or other children. Talk about being curious and carefree! I find myself watching dogs play fetch or playing with other dogs. There is an awareness in paying attention to what is going on and that sense of discovery!

What can we learn through those interactions? I enjoy learning how others live and go about their day. I love learning more about myself in general! I also believe there is some life lessons to learn from in order to experience and to expand the world more. I live for the most part in a bubble and every once in a while burst it open to adventure, explore and discover the NEW!

I so want to be more curious and carefree when it comes to communicating, interacting and connecting with myself and others! I know it helps me just be more in the moment and be more open to the possibilities and opportunities. I think about the pure bliss and joy as well as the pleasure and happiness I receive and give back in having better interactions with myself and others! I enjoy putting the technology aside and spending quality time face-to-face with another human being. I really crave that one-on-one time with my greatest someone(s)!

I need to . . .

  • Come from a place of love and live from my heart.
  • Be aware of where my feet are pointing me on my path.
  • Pay attention to where my feet are leading me on this journey.
  • Create my story by living my life each and every day.
  • Get out there to travel, adventure and explore TODAY.

No Limits

One BIG World

I dream about “the sky has no limits”, however; I still put a false ceiling above me when going for what I want or need in my life! Why is that I wondered one day!

  1. What do I need to clear out and declutter in my life?
  2. What do I need clarity on as far as choices, decisions, changes, and transitions in my life?
  3. What do I need to do to define/redefine meaning and purpose in my life?
  4. What do I need to question and/or answer in my life?
  5. What do I need to do to make those changes for the better and transition in my life?

I needed to tune in and turn inward! I needed to tap into my talents, gifts and passions again. I needed to find my motivation and inspiration to spark that creative energy again. I needed to develop and grow as well as learn and experience again. Just get curious and explore!

  • What am I meant to do with my life and how to go about doing it?

I needed to step forward, take action and just get out there in trying new things and opening up my world to new experiences! I feel freer and lighter. I feel more open to embrace the good and the positive. I feel joy and happiness as well as richness and abundance. Just feel better about my whole being!

  • What am I passionate about?
  • What excites and motivates me?
  • What sparks my creative side or intellectual side?
  • What skills, talents and gifts do I have?
  • What life experiences do I have?
  • What life experiences do I want to make?

I seem to revert back to my childhood when I answer these questions! I reflect on the games I played and the fantasy worlds I made up!

  • I love to read.
  • I love to explore and go on adventures.
  • I love to escape and get outside my regular elements.
  • I love to be with nature and the wild things.
  • I love being active and on the move.

What would I do if there were NO LIMITS???

(Photos by RSheridan)

I think about the endless possibilities and opportunities!
