Derailment

Staying On Track to Get What You Want!

Why do we hold ourselves back, set ourselves up for failure and derail ourselves right off the tracks from the starting gate?


Watch Out!

I have been taught to try something to see if I like it or not! I do not attempt things if I am not interested at all. I do not want to waste my time and energy. I want to get on to doing something I do want to do!

I do not set priorities or commit fully! I will start something until I can decide what I really want. I have experienced quite a bit of stops and starts and on to the next things. I cannot commit fully when my heart is not in it and it is something I do not truly want!

I make excuses so I do not have to hold myself accountable for not succeeding! I cannot believe I just thought that and wrote it. Ding, ding, ding! I need to set my mindset to a more positive, proactive and productive setting. I know I need to take the time to decide what I want as well as why I want it! Otherwise the excuses, negative talk and procrastination cycle continues on.


Going With the Flow

When I hear the saying “Keep your eyes on the prize!” I think about gambling with that gum ball machine in the hopes my 25 cents would get me the color I really, really wanted! I would either get excited or disappointed, but I would always chew the piece of gum I received. I was determined to enjoy it and take pleasure it in and not feel like I just wasted 25 cents. There is a little irony and a little meaning to take from that memory!

Life is one Big “Twist & Turn” that requires that you get out the map every once in a while to see if you are still on track and heading in the right direction!


Staying On the Trail

Do not become distracted though and focus on what you want and where you want to go! I am determined to continue the good fight and continue moving forward. I will try really hard to watch out for those obstacles and hurdles as well as those mistakes, setbacks and failures. I will try really hard to not make excuses and watch my words, like could to can and would to will. I am capable of doing anything and everything if I just get out of my own way and out of my own crazy mind!

I remind myself every day to get moving and take action to get closer to what I want in living my life!

Going For Your Wants

What Do You Really Want???

How do you share with yourself what you want? How about with other people?

I want to show who I am and share what I really want in my life! However, it is hard putting yourself out there like that. I also start thinking about what other people think about what I want and if I want too much! I am still a work in progress when it comes to finding out what I want to be or what I want in my life.

My Basic Wants . . .

  • I want to be loved.
  • I want to have great healthy relationships.
  • I want to love my whole being.
  • I want to be happy and healthy.
  • I want to live the life I do have.

I want to be an active participant in living my life! I want to be motivated and engaged. I want to be healthy and stay active for my whole being. I want to go after what I want and not settle or get stuck or stagnant!

My Hoping, Wishing, Dreaming Wants . . .

  • I want to travel the world.
  • I want to be a published writer.
  • I want my photography displayed publicly.
  • I want more of the life I do have.
  • I want to be the BEST me.

I will never stop hoping, wishing or dreaming! I do keep certain things close to myself and my heart. I do enjoy sharing my life with other people, especially my greatest someones. I am learning that you have to take ownership when it comes to what you want!

Ready, Set,

Go For IT

I use to think letting go meant giving up! I can see now I was just holding myself back in living my life. I would get myself so wrapped up in fighting for the stupidiest, trivial things too! I like to think I know how to pick my battles, but more times than not I pick the wrong battle right from the beginning.


Opening My Eyes

Sometimes you have to cut your losses, end it, move on, and begin once again! Sometimes you have to say “goodbye” in order to say “hello” to what is waiting out there for you to experience. Sometimes you have to let go in order to be open to life! Sometimes you have to be the bigger person and just walk away from the fight that is so not worth it.

I want to experience life and all that is has to offer! I am learning when to let go, when to hold on and when to hang on. It can be a freeing and at times a liberating experience when you know which option to choose. Let the wild ride begin!

Releasing What No Longer Serves You

Developing a Deeper You

I am taking a new approach in living my life!

I really want to put my energy and time into what serves me best! I am really learning to evaluate what I need in my life to keep it as simple as possible too. I am finding that balance that works best for me. I am listening to myself and my needs too. Especially when I find myself on “OVER Everything”!

I am a little over swinging from one extreme to the next! I want to find that release that is restorative and reserves my time and energy. I need to remember to schedule myself in more and take care of myself and my needs! That is one reason I exercise throughout the week because it is a great release and is restorative to my whole being.


Releasing . . . Grounding

I feel better when I connect, interact, engage, and communicate with myself and other people on a daily basis! I enjoy time to myself too. I am working on creating, building and developing healthier relationships, especially with my greatest someones! I want to be there and be supportive as well as share, give and receive too.

I need to be able to connect to myself from the inside out! I want to be open to the possibilities and to the opportunities. I want to be able to challenge myself and to be able to stimulate my whole being. I know I need to find my sense of calm and just be! I want to avoid the crazy busyness and multi tasking and just focus in on the moment or task at hand. Just be an active participant when it comes to growing and gaining life experiences!

Think about this! I envision standing in Mountain Pose and rooting myself from my feet to the top of my head. Did you know that no one is completely even on each side! I am aware of my posture and my breathing. I am focused on standing evenly on both feet. I am looking for my balance or my evenness. I love raising my arms above me too!

Being Okay

Being More Open

I know the one thing I do for myself is try! I use to feed into the mind set of SOME DAY and then throw myself a pity party when things did not work in my favor. Hello! NOTHING will be in my favor if I do not even try. Start TODAY!

Accepting My Mistakes and My Failures

On this journey of self I came upon a pretty significant roadblock; failure! A huge part of this whole perfection mind set of mine is not wanting to make mistakes or even fail. There is also that wanting everything to be right too. I need to be okay with that and be more open to learning and growing from those mistakes and failures!

I already do not care for rejection! Then there is wrapping my mind around failure too! I am the type of person that sees failure as the end to something. Instead of the beginning, the possibilities and the opportunities. I see it as a personal attack and a  shake down or even a take down!

I have to remind myself that making mistakes and experiencing failures may lead to good things in my life! I am my worst enemy and criticizer as well as my biggest judger and rejecter. I have to give it my time and my energy. I have to go with it and see where it leads me. I have to not give up when the going gets tough!

Embracing Who I Am

Who Is Challenging Who? Who Is Chasing Who?

I think I do pretty well in picking myself up and dusting myself off! However, I usually do not pick up what put me down and just move on to the next thing. How will I ever know what I can do and what I want if I do not get out there and just do it, go for it and achieve it! I just have to start and take action.

I am learning to lean into that discomfort and not be overwhelmed by the unknowns! I cannot grow as a person if I just choose to live in comfort and ease. I do like stability and security though. I do like setting my level of risk too. I enjoy a bit of a challenge, especially if it motivates and stimulates as well as satisfies and fulfills me! I enjoy working through the process and problem solving.

The GREATEST gift I can give myself is to believe in myself! This includes listening from within, following my heart and trusting my gut. I need to make a commitment to myself in being there for myself in EVERYTHING that I do! This includes being true to who I am, believing in my self worth, trusting that I am enough, and just having faith in myself.

Slowing Down

So Not Speeding Up

The #1 thing I have learned while recovering from an injury is to slow down and way more than I already do! It is so important to tune into how you feel and listen to what your body needs, especially mentally and physically. I am also learning to do away with the guilt that comes with taking time out for myself and taking care of my needs! It really matters to find that pace and that balance with my whole being too.


Water Speaks to My Whole Being

I am so not lazy unless I want to be! In being able to relax I can better connect with myself from the inside out. I am able to turn off the stress mode and tap into my calm and collected self. Who knows you might like me a little more and want to be around me more too! I know I like me more when I give myself a time out and can put my feet up.

I miss out on so much when I suck myself into the crazy busyness! It just zaps my energy and motivation. I am not able to tap into my creative side and lack inspiration. It is so not worth it to get so wrapped up!

What are you experiencing in your life that fills you up?

Much More Joy, Happiness and Pleasure

Have you ever read a book that lets you release emotionally while bringing you joy in the end? I love books like this because it gets me in touch with my emotions, lets me release and gives me joy, happiness and pleasure. I also love books like this because it lets me escape and get sucked into another world. Plus reading lets me have some time to myself too!

Feeling GOOD

Who does not want to feel good and find that place of happiness! I love that joy that has you smiling from ear to ear. I love a great belly laugh. I love doing what gives me pleasure and makes me have FUN! I love a good celebration with my greatest someones.


FEELING . . .

Play Time

Nothing better than letting out your inner child and playing! I loved playing as a child and still do as an adult. I find it relaxing and reenergizing to do what I want to do and just what makes me happy too. I know I need to let my inner child out more, way more than I do!

Exploring

How about doing something NEW! I find myself motivated and challenged as well as stimulated and engaged. I enjoy stretching outside my comfort zone and taking myself out of my day-to-day life. Sometimes I actually surprise myself in what I CAN DO; a true inspiration to myself!

Give Yourself a Darn Break Already

Remember to make yourself a priority! It is important to take time for yourself and just disconnect. It matters to take care of yourself in order to refuel and reenergize. Think about Nuturing and Nourishing! I love to escape and get away from it all.

The BEST Part is that Filling Yourself Up Comes From Within YOU!

Finding Your Rhythm . . .

Discovering Your Harmony . . .

Have your ever just stopped and tuned into your own body? I think of the Corpse pose in yoga. I think about connecting from my head to my toes and listening to my heart beating. I think about how grateful I am for what my body can do for me! 

Breathe IN, Breath OUT & Repeat

If you have, how does it make you feel? I feel strong and connected from the inside out. I feel calm and centered as well as recharged and reenergized. I feel ready to get out there and just live it!

I love taking time for myself to do what I want to do! I enjoy taking care of myself and my needs. I am my own protector, supporter and cheerleader. I am learning to love myself and my whole being more, way more!

When I hear the word “enough” I want it to be in a positive way! I am enough. I am deserving. I am so WORTH it!


Open . . . Embrace . . . Create . . .

I want to replace “could” with “can” and “would” with “will”! I am finding a new normal when it comes to moving my body and staying active. I am loving my inner strength and discovering my strong again! I enjoy stretching my comfort zone and trying new things. It makes me feel good! I am amazed what I can do when I face my fears; rational, irrational and emotional.

I truly want to embrace and accept myself fully and live from within! I so want to connect with the whole me and that includes the messy parts too! I struggle with every fiber of my being to let go a little bit of the challenger and controller in me and just be and go with the flow. Life is way too short to not live every minute of it!

The best gift I can give myself every day is being more open to what life has to offer, let it in and soak up the richness of it too! I need to listen to myself and my needs and find the balance that works best for me. I love escaping to the great outdoors and nature and the beauty it has to offer. Just OPEN your mind, your eyes, your ears, your heart, and your senses!

From the Heart

With Love

I struggle some days in finding my sense of being human! I know what you are thinking, so let me explain.

Do you live every day with intention or at least from your heart? To love what you are doing as well as to love yourself and other people!

I know I do not and even get up on the wrong side of the bed some days! I  really love having 30 to 45 minutes for myself in the morning! I feel less stress and much better when it comes to taking on my day. I wish the weekends were longer. I still struggle with Mondays – ha!


Finding My Calm and Collected Self!!!

I like to think I show kindness and appreciation to the people I engage, interact and communicate with! I like to think I show love and gratitude to myself and other people, especially my greatest someones. I like to think I am a work in progress and working really hard at living my crazy, busy life and even loving it a little more too!

I know I am learning to be a more compassionate being! I am working on my control and perfection issues and it is certainly not easy at times. I am learning to put my ego on the down low and turn up my intuition; live from the inside out. What I am saying about my ego is that I need to become more self-aware in order to self-regulate myself and my actions! My sense of self needs to come from the heart and really be at an appropriate level too.


Listening To My Whole Being, Especially My Heart

I am a lot to take in when I get fiery, especially when I take it too personally! I either go silent or become reactionary and defensive. I do not even like being around that person and it is ME! I am learning there is a time and place to release and release in a good way. I try to do away with the negative self talk, berating myself and feeling guilty because it just continues to fester.

Everyone has an ego! I feel that in being aware of my ego and understanding my ego I can accept and embrace my ego. I need to STOP controlling my ego and thinking bad of it! I can find my sense of balance with my ego and not be swinging from one extreme to the next. I am figuring out what works best for me when it comes to my sense of balance and my needs in living the life I want!

I am learning that everything and anything I want comes from me! I am learning to follow my heart, listen to my inner self and trust my instincts and intuitions better. I can let my true sense of self out and love from my heart. In being more open to loving and accepting myself I can share, give and receive to myself and other people. I want to be open to the possibilities and opportunities as well as make good decisions and choices. I want to go after my desires and passions by stretching my comfort zone and taking risks. I am growing and gaining experiences that are adding richness to living my life!

I am a good person and I certainly can work on being a better version of myself too! I am falling in love with my whole being again and it feels pretty good too! I truly want to share my inner world with the outside world!

The Body Talks Part 3

Building Self Esteem

I have learned a very valuable lesson over the last year pertaining to my body image! I use to think my body image was about the way I LOOKED. However, I fell out of love with my body with each and every weight gain. I have learned that my body image is about how I FEEL!

I also learned that you have to build up from the foundation or in this case with your own body! You have to do what works best for you and your needs. You will start to feel it as your body changes. Remember if it starts to feel like work or a chore make some adjustments and keep going!

I am having fun when it comes to getting my sweat on and I certainly want to play more too!

Personal Space

I am the one in control of me, my body and my self worth! I have to listen to me. I have to nurture and nourish my whole being from the inside out!

This starts with creating personal space and healthier boundaries for myself! It is bad enough when you make yourself less than and then you listen and maybe feed into that from other people. It is so unhealthy and borderline toxic. You build your worth by taking care of yourself and your needs, especially mentally and emotionally!

Living For You

Have you ever thought about living for you? Making yourself a priority even if it is for five minutes!

I enjoy carving out time for myself to do what I love to do! I just feel more nurtured and nourished throughout my whole being, especially from within to what I share with other people. I want to tap into my talents, especially when it comes to what I am most passionate about! I know for me it builds me up and that is a great feeling.

Life is worth learning, growing and experiencing! Life is worth doing what you love to do too!

Working It

I am enjoying the process of my journey of self! It is work and I have had to get into that mindset of taking action. I have had to work through some things along the way and confront some of the ugliness that I really do not like about myself. It is so worth it though and it can be a freeing experience too!

The biggest eye-opener for me has been learning to connect with myself again! The mental and the physical. The emotions, the feelings and the thoughts. I lost that belief and trust in myself! I was not being true to who I am. I was doing myself a disservice and I deserved so much more!

I am working on listening to my voice, following my heart and trusting my gut again and it feels so good!
