Setting Your Sights

On What You Want

I am a plodder, a plotter and a planner! I am so not a setter of goals. I am more of a setter of sights in my wants!

Setting My Sights

I am trying to break that cycle of thinking about the next thing and the next thing, which results in getting nowhere with nothing really done!

Setting Goals

Here is my issue with setting goals! I have to set one larger goal and then set smaller, incremental goals to achieve that larger goal. Yes, it is more manageable, but is it truly a time saver for me!

I may never know. I set myself up for failure before I even get started at times by setting the larger goal and then just plodding along when it comes to the smaller, incremental goals! I think it is my way to not follow through if and when the going gets tough.

Seeing ONLY the Big Picture

When I am feeling overwhelmed, I think Big Picture ONLY! Especially when I am being faced with something for the 1st time. I forget about the details throughout the process and just focus on the end result, which usually results in mixed outcomes. I start thinking about the challenge I am being handed and if the reward justifies all my hard work!

Seeing ONLY the Big Picture

Making Excuses

My favorite excuse at times that I tell myself is that I do not have the time! I usually procrastinate on those things I really do not want to do.

I remember someone telling me that I should make a game out of it to make it more fun. Yes, let’s play hide and let’s not seek!

I am all for being creative with my time or making time if it is something that drives me and is a passion of mine. Otherwise, I will get it done eventually and do not be surprised if it is minutes from the deadline!

Moving Out Of My Way

I usually just have to get out of my own way to be successful in setting my sights on what I want! I like to be challenged, but not when I am the one setting up the challenges. I need to focus on and enjoy the process more. I need to practice more on my follow through. I need to inspire myself in order to reap the benefits and rewards in what I want!

Making Way

Being Secretive or Willing to Share

It depends on what I want! I am usually secretive if I do not want to jinx myself in getting what I want. Sometimes I am willing to share what I am setting my sights on, but it usually is with my inner circle of greatest someones.

Getting to the Final Destination

I think about getting to the final destination! I find myself just doing and going full speed ahead instead of enjoying the process. You might be wondering if I ever get what I want in the way I go about it! I do and I end up doing it my way at times too.

From May 2015 - March 2016, Sherry and Sean traveled the country and lived in a 5th wheel R.V. They took pictures, hiked mountains, and saw amazing sights. They are now settled in Fort Myers, Florida and are continuing to take pictures and seeing amazing sights. This is the blog of their journey from leaving St. Louis and starting an adventure, to living in Florida and doing photography. Enjoy the stories, and leave comments if you have one to share!
