LOVE Making It & Eating It!!!
Do you cook on a regular basis?
I love cooking with my greatest someone and a great tasting glass of wine! Together we either divide and conquer or work together to put together a great tasting meal. The best part is getting to eat what we make! I take pleasure in the prepping, the cooking and the eating.
I enjoy taking the time to sit down to eat a great meal! Dress up the table and put out real napkins. Sometimes I have to remind myself to slow down, enjoy and savor. I love gathering around the table with family and celebrating life!
I wish I had more time to cook and bake and just play around in the kitchen at times! I really try to do that on the weekends and remember to prep for the upcoming week too. I use to love to bake from scratch back in the day! I keep telling myself I need to get back into baking for therapy and relaxation.
I have a confession when it comes to cooking and that is I LOVE gadgets! I realize all I really need are the basics and good quality tools, but where is the FUN in that. I LOVE pops of color throughout my kitchen and the brighter the better! A certain family member has been sharing their addiction with dishware with me over the years too, which is just plain dangerous too.
I enjoy fueling my body properly! I find I have better control with my food by cooking my own meals. I also brown bag it for my lunches. I tend to not go to far out of the box when it comes to everyday cooking! Sometimes this causes me to fall into a rut with my cooking.
I slowly noticed a gradual change in my health when I started cooking healthier for myself. For one I could control the sugar and sodium as well as the fat. My skin started to clear up and my nails and hair were getting healthier too. My tummy troubles are no more and my body thanks me for that. Just simple, clean, healthy eating – love that!
I love produce that is in season and it just tastes great too! With fresh produce there is little that I need to do with it except make sure is it cooked properly if not eating raw. I enjoy grilled veggies and packing a fruit salad in my brown bag lunch! I do a little prep work when I get home, so I am ready to use throughout the week.
I struggle with seasoning or marinading at times to make certain foods taste good and just pop! My go to is usually olive oil, a little garlic and a pinch of sea or kosher salt. Sometimes I just want to mix it up though! I either succeed or it is just okay to the point of disaster.
Ahhh the memories when it comes to disasters and blow ups in the kitchen! What fun until you have to clean it up – ha!
