Coffee Lovers Paradise

Kauai Coffee

Kauai Coffee is located at 870 Halewili Road, Kalaheo, HI 96741. From June 1 to August 31 hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. From September 1 to May 1 hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Kauai Coffee started out in the early 1800s as McBryde Sugar Company and became Kauai Coffee in 1987. In 1992 Hurricane Iniki caused $8.5 millions in damages to the coffee crop. In 1996 Kauai Coffee’s harvest exceeded the volume of coffee produced by the entire Kona region. (from Kauai Coffee’s website)

At the Visitor Center you can taste their entire line of 100% estate-grown coffees. Coffee Lovers Paradise! The aroma of coffee will draw you in. Tasting is FREE, but remember to fill up a cup and stroll through the self-guided tour.

On the self-guided tour you will experience the coffee trees (over 4 million trees on 3,100 acres) and sugar cane. You will learn about Kauai Coffee and its history as well as the entire coffee process (blossiming to harvesting to processing to roasting). The Pacific sun, the rich volcanic earth, the mountain rains and the cool trade winds are the ideal conditions for growing exceptional coffee.

Really a Hands-On Experience!

I could not resist in taking a bag of beans home with me (retail-size not like the bag below). I really loved their dark roasts, especially the Poipu Estate – Espresso Roast.

Self-guided Tour – Enjoy!

They are now settled in Fort Myers, Florida and are continuing to take pictures and seeing amazing sights. This is the blog of their journey from leaving St. Louis and starting an adventure, to living in Florida and doing photography. Enjoy the stories, and leave comments if you have one to share!
