Do You Think You Are?
Back on December 5, 2012 I wrote a post called Enough Said. This post is a follow-up to that post to discuss the following question:
How do you let go of the “who I think you should be mentality“?
First of all humans are complex beings with multiple layers! That includes emotions, attitudes and perceptions! That includes having a purpose as to why we are here. It goes deeper than who we are, who is on our family tree and who raised us.
Everyone has an opinion when it comes to who you are, including yourself! Everyone of us has a past, present and future. Everyone of us has some type of culture as well as some type of role in society. How you respond is UP TO YOU!
You are What You Think! OR Not So Much!!!
I know the TRUE me is among the different roles I play or participate each and every day! I try to be TRUE to myself and follow my own heart and mind. Sometimes I find myself in that “who I think you should be mentality” and really try hard not to feed into that. I know I need to be TRUE to my values and beliefs and at times this places me outside my comfort zone.
As a complex being there are times that you need to give yourself pemission to take off one of those multiple layers and let the TRUE you shine! Only you can do that for yourself. Sometimes you have to listen to what is going on inside of you than what is taking place outside around you each and every day! It helps you embrace your True self; the Real person that lives inside of you.
WHO Do You THINK You Are Then???
Embark on your own personal journey and discover yourself! Just imagine the possibilities waiting for you along the way. You may just SURPRISE yourself in finding strengths you never knew you had. AMAZING RIGHT!!!
