Going It Solo

Taking Back Solitude

Do you really spend quality time alone? Think of it in terms of solitude and not as being antisocial. Call it what you will, but the Super Achiever, Go Getter, Must Not Stop Now person inside each of us needs to rev down and reconnect with the true self at times. Do you just not feel like yourself some days? It is called BURNOUT People!!!

At least do yourself a service and let go of technology for a few hours throughout the day. That will become the next reality show. Has technology taken over your life? Call 1-800!

I enjoy the freedom and creative license of solitude as well as it gives me a much needed break to be a better person among the people I love too. It is important to have that personal balance in your life (i.e. time for yourself, time spent with family and friends, time for networking, etc.). I know this is probably a little too TMI, but solitude puts the spark back into my relationship. Oh So Grateful and Really Appreciative of What I DO HAVE in My Life!

Remember to surround yourself with people that lift you up and not down. Avoid the unnecessary drama because it is a time waster and an energy sucker for sure! If this is not possible, then set some boundaries and spend less time with these certain individuals. If it is possible, it might be time to clean the “emotional house” and sever some ties with certain individuals.

My #1 Going It Solo Love

When I vacation near a beach I love to get up early and go for a walk on the beach. So rise and shine for some much needed solitude. If you are a night owl than stay up a little later than everyone else for some much needed solitude. Enjoy IT Whatever IT Is!!!

My #2 Going It Solo Love

I enjoy taking myself out to lunch and for a little window shopping. I also enjoy going to the salon to have my hair done. I really love doing the little things for myself; just reconnect with my true self. It is nice to do what you WANT TO DO at times!

Where the Bison Roam

In Yellowstone

Bison:  A large humped animal; a large hairy animal with a massive head. The bison were at the end of their mating season when I was in Yellowstone. DO NOT call them Buffalo; take offense to that term! I love watching the baby calves play and frolick.

Heading into the Wilderness

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone truly puts the “wild” in “wild”erness! The park is MASSIVE with plenty to see and do. Just think about the fact that you are standing on an ACTIVE VOLCANO! Then you have the bison nearing the end of their mating season and the elk beginning their mating season. A WHOLE LOT OF WILD GOING ON!!!

Checking Out the Sights

There were multiple people in front of the lodge, so took a picture of the cabin below.

True Grit

Put Your Grit Into Gear!

I am talking about the true grit inside every one of us. You can call your true grit anything you want just engage it!

GRIT is the raw endurance, perseverance and passion that keep you going despite obstacles.

Watch Out for Obstacles! (Photo by RSheridan)

Realizing your hopes and dreams is IMPORTANT and takes WORK! Part of that is tuning into your passions. What passions fire you up and have you putting your true grit into gear? Just getting engaged in living life one moment at a time; learning and growing as a person too.

My Top 3

  1. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  2. Writing creatively throughout the week.
  3. Continuing to learn and grow as a person on a daily basis.

Here’s to Developing Your True Grit; Your Mental Stamina People!!!
