Being Open to Change

Growing . . .

Love this Quote . . . “Be the Change You Wish to See!”

Identify What Needs to Be Changed

Change is HARD! I am learning though that you are ONLY in control of your behavior and how you interact in a situation. You are the one that needs to accept responsibility for you actions and no one else’s actions. Some heavy thinking going on I know!

I have been looking inward instead of outward lately when it comes to change. Take care of yourself when it comes to making changes in your life! I am learning that at times you need to lean into the discomfort of change. Really reflect on what is or is not working for me in the present moment.

In idenitfying what you need to change you can have the respect you deserve, celebrate the successes you have and will earn and really achieve the life you want to live.

Change is Just Around the Corner

I think for me I need to understand my behaviors, attitudes and preferences in order to anticipate and prepare for change BEFORE it happens. Sounds so easy, NOT! I know one way to really get to know yourself is while you are under stress; however, it takes a toll on your body, mind and spirit though. I have had my fair share of stress lately. I am done with that, moving on and making changes.

I really struggle with retaining the genuine me when experiencing or making changes in my life. I know I am in there somewhere as well as that I need to get out of my own way at times too. Some of that struggle comes from wanting to hold onto certain beliefs and values while at the same time you are trying to be flexible and adaptable when experiencing change. Some of that struggle too comes from being stubborn and resisting any or all change. Me Change, But Why!

Can you really anticipate and prepare for change? Does knowing the genuine you and your beliefs and values help you respond better to change? Will you become a more flexible and adaptive person when changes occur?

Do Not Look Back, Move Forward

You know that old habits die a hard and slow death at times, right! You have to be open and be curious as well as proactive versus reactive in life. Not ALL changes are bad; some are for the better even though you do not see the results right away. You really have to be thinking ahead and get one step ahead of change at times. Beat it at its own game – ha!

Sometimes you need to step back and reassess what is important in your life, make the appropriate changes and continue moving forward. Avoid getting stuck or dwelling on a particular change.

Identify your strengths and use those strengths to your advantage when you are experiencing change. Identify what makes you uncomfortable. You may leave or make changes to what makes you uncomfortable.

Here’s to Changing for the Better for Yourself; Body, Mind & Spirit!!!
