Yosemite National Park – Make It Your Own!

Yosemite is unique in that you can make it your own and create your own experiences. Yosemite has its own meaning to each individual that visits the park. I think I can speak for the majority of people who have visited Yosemite you are not the same when you leave – it is that type of place!

We have made many trips to Yosemite – mainly in the Fall and then in 2010 in the Spring. I am not going to bore you with every detail of our many trips – that would be like being trapped in someone’s living room watching years and years worth of slide presentations unless you like that – to each their own.

I want to share the Highlights of Yosemite with you. I will start with some of the trails we hiked and explored throughout Yosemite. Click On – Two Great Online Resources 1) Yosemite & 2) Yosemite Hikes.

Yosemite Valley Hikes

  • Bridalveil Fall
  • Happy Isles
  • Lower Yosemite Falls
  • Mirror Lake (biked)
  • Sentinel Meadow & Cook’s Meadow Loop Trail
  • Upper Yosemite Falls (included hiking to Columbia Rock)

You may or may not see that bear you were expecting to see and may see that bear in the most unexpecting way too. There are so many things to see and do that you probably do not know even where to jump off to start your experience. One idea is to just start exploring and another idea is to follow the masses of people because more than likely you will end up in one of the places you wanted to see. Another great place to start is at the Visitor’s Center – check out the current movie playing.

You can shuttle, walk, hike or bike Yosemite – rent a horse even for a trail ride. Your lodging can be as simple as pitching a tent to luxurious accommodations at the Ahwahnee Hotel. Your dining options are vast from cooking on the barbie to tucking into a pizza pie at Curry Village to brunch at the Ahwahnee. Do not forget to check out the Ranger programs throughout the day or join the Sierra Club for a lecture. You can make friends or find solitude while there. There is endless possibilities of things to see and do while visiting Yosemite.

From May 2015 - March 2016, Sherry and Sean traveled the country and lived in a 5th wheel R.V. They took pictures, hiked mountains, and saw amazing sights. They are now settled in Fort Myers, Florida and are continuing to take pictures and seeing amazing sights. This is the blog of their journey from leaving St. Louis and starting an adventure, to living in Florida and doing photography. Enjoy the stories, and leave comments if you have one to share!
