We were looking for a place to camp and decided to check out Folsom Lake State Park. We went in May (2009) and the weather was perfect. The campground is located in a populated area, but you feel removed from the hustle and bustle. The campground has its own access to Folsom Lake with plenty of beach and picnic areas. The park also has walking and biking trails.
We went for a bike ride and saw the Folsom Dam and the Folsom Prison. You will get a workout on the bike trail – plenty of inclines and declines. The scenery along the bike trail is lush and beautiful. More than likely you will see some wildlife along the trail.
We took a drive to find the Folsom Premium Outlets and stumbled on to Historic Folsom. The historic part of town is relatively small but worth the side trip while in the area.
