Convict Lake in Mammoth, California

On a trip to Mammoth, California we decided to check out Convict Lake. There is a little drive before you come upon the lake and boy is it breathtaking the first time you see it.

Why the lake is called Convict Lake . . .
A group of convicts escaped from prison in Carson City in 1871. A posse, led by Sheriff Morrision, came upon the convicts near Convict Creek. Unfortunately Morrison was killed trying to recapture the group of convicts.

FUN FACT – Convict Lake was used in an advertisement for Nature Valley granola bars in 2007.

      Ursula –

I have really missed seeing you in the office and was nice to see you last night to catch up. We will have to get together one day after work for a glass of vino. The WordPress seminar next weekend – Do you know if they offer this later on in the year? I do not know if I can pay full price and did not know of this seminar so not able to get in on the early bird price. Plus I signed up for another Saturday class in May with TMCC – trying to pace the paying classes with taking books out of the library to learn more.

      Have a Great Day!

Hi Renee! Thank you so much for dinner last night! I wish I had time today to come by and help clean up. We’ve been moving stuff here all day.
Let me know when you want to meet after work. We just need to do it. I miss you!
This next week is not good but anything after that should be fine.
The Word Press seminar you really should go to is this one at the link below. If you can register tonight, it is $25.00. After tonight it is $30. It’s in June. I go every year and I love it:

      Ursula –

Thanks for calling. I registered for the Word Press Seminar you suggested above – sounds like fun and the creativity will be buzzing in the air. How about Wednesday, May 4th (we have family coming in the week of April 24th – going for a Wine Event Weekend 4/29 – 5/2 to meet – just tell me the place and I will be there – remember I work until 5:15 but if we meet around McCarren & Lakeside will not take long to get there??? We are open to getting together with you and Al for dinner – meet somewhere, your house or our house – we need to get out and socialize once in a while.

Both of our schedules are jammed for the rest of April – so hopefully May 4th will work to meet. I look forward to getting together with you and being just of the two of us. I can bring my laptop or we can just get togther and chat and catch up with one another.

Happy Moving and Have a Great Week – Take Care.

From May 2015 - March 2016, Sherry and Sean traveled the country and lived in a 5th wheel R.V. They took pictures, hiked mountains, and saw amazing sights. They are now settled in Fort Myers, Florida and are continuing to take pictures and seeing amazing sights. This is the blog of their journey from leaving St. Louis and starting an adventure, to living in Florida and doing photography. Enjoy the stories, and leave comments if you have one to share!
